We explicitly know Steven's potential accomplishments were not a reason Rose chose to have him, but I'd like some elaboration on what was. Creating Life Is Awesome is clearly the foundation of it, but why did she think creating one life was worth dying for? Especially compared if she and Greg just adopted, then she'd have a kid she could actually raise.
Maybe it's something we'll never know for sure because Steven can't personally know Rose, but we should eventually get to know what Greg knew. I'd certain hope it was something she discussed with Greg!
Too bad Rosey didn't get to experience the other side of creating life...which would be sacrifice to protect it.
Oh, if only Rebecca Sugar stayed with AT for just a season longer...that could've been an addressed topic in a flashback that tells us why she wanted to have a child.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.![]()
I definitely don't think Rose wished she was dead, but low self-worth may have been part of the decision—she may have thought that a random potential life was more valuable than her own.
On the whole "why deprive your kid of a mother" angle, I'm beginning to suspect Rose's thoughts on the subject were nothing. Being Born as an Adult, she may have completely failed to account how upbringing affects humans' quality of life. A big part of her decision could have been based on cultural ignorance.
Steven was a mistake. (puts out a cigarette)
I wonder if Steven was conceived through a Magic Kiss, would be appropriate for this show anyway

Watching Padparadscha in "Lars of the Stars" reminded me of a commercial from years ago. It was about this guy who reacted to stuff like five seconds too late. He'd be playing tennis and the ball would go right past him without him moving, then he'd return the ball long after it what passed. Driving up to a toll booth, he'd drive right through it, then stop and throw some change of the window. Can't for the life of me remember what the commercial was for.
My theory is that internal shapeshifting is different from external shapeshifting (or size changing). There was also a deleted scene, cut only for time, where Peridot was able to eat. Meaning Peridot, who otherwise can't shapeshift, can still create internal organs. And then there's Amethyst who is frequently eating, but can't make herself much bigger for long.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.>
Perhaps that's just how strong she is?
And being very determined, she spent thousands of years fighting a rebellion and succeeded
I do wonder if Rose is the exception otherwise Pink Diamond may have created an entire line of Gems capable of having offspring,
