That is an indication of what it does when it is used for its intended purpose. It is not an indication of its limitations. It's designed so that you will never smash a gem when poofing a body. It doesn't say that the gem will somehow be invincible against it once the body is poofed.
EDIT: Okay. Dropping it.

One possibility is that the Diamonds are so different from the Gems they rule over that the normal rule of 'destroy the form but never the gem itself' did not apply when it came Rose attacking Pink, and now that we know that Pink was roughly Stevonnie's height it makes it even more likely that Rose shattered her since the other Diamonds were protected by their size and she wasn't
I would say size and powers but there's been no indication that Pink didn't have powers, just that she was short

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverTakafumi Hori made another SU animation, this time of Connie fighting the Holo-Pearls
. (It was supposed to be for the show's 4th anniversary last November, but I sure as hell am not complaining that something he made in his spare time was late.)
We only think it's inefficient because of Fridge Logic. It's never been brought up In-Universe.
By the show's rules, it could be the most broken weapon in the show, but without a reason to say so we'll never know.

Thinking about it, I don't think they'll go into specific details on Pink Diamond's death or shattering in general because that's morbid, and this is still a show made for kids. If Rose didn't actually do it, maybe it being The Un-Twist was the reason CN was okay with them revealing Rose shattered Pink Diamond in the first place.

Jasper was just going to shatter Amethyst in her bare hands, and you can say "but that's Jasper" but we've been told that gems were being shattered all over the war, it's not like it wasn't a thing before the Breaking Point.
The Breaking Point was created specifically to shatter gems, that doesn't mean, nor imply it's impossible, or even particularly difficult, to shatter one without it.
Also, this was like couple of pages back but going "Rose was framed but didn't tell Garnet or Pearl because that's what Rose does" is not a satisfying answer at all, and makes no sense. Rose had secrets but they were things she was involved in. Her being framed and not having anything to do with Pink being shattered but even letting those closet to her think she did just because isn't being mysterious, it's just idiotic, and would be a sign of bad writing.
Steven with Rose's sword did beat Bismuth using the Breaking Point, so it's not an overwhelmingly powerful—just think of it as any other weapon, except it's considerably more likely to result in an immediate shattering.
@tesoroazul, I love the idea of Ruby, Sapphire and Opal being around for a week to see who can hold out the longest. Sugar should take notes.
I still can't get over that Zircon is voiced by the same chick who is Princess Carolyn in BoJack Horseman.
That question prompted me to look up the Japanese version of "Stronger Than You".

They at least came up with a reason for her looking different, and they hadn't seen Jasper in a long time. It's not like the Rubies (or maybe just Eyeball) didn't notice her appearance was off.
