Concept for Emerald.
The main difference seems to be the final version has a blockier chest and a lighter color scheme.
I can't think of the end of the "Jungle Moon" dream sequence without thinking "Why should I believe you? You're Pink Diamond!"

An interesting detail
some people have noticed is that Rose's gem has the shape of Pink's gem in it's centre, and that on it's side it lines up with Pink's gem, this seems to support the long standing theory that Rose is somehow Pink Diamond, but, from what we've seen the other bubbled Rose gems have a similar cut
I feel like Pink Diamond went to the trouble of having her Rose Quartzes closely resemble her for a reason, maybe she was just really proud of her creations or something.

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverThe weird thing is that one of the Crewniverse wore a shirt with a pointed ended depiction of Rose's Gen. But that may just have been an earlier design.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out the Rose Quartz line even has similar powers as Pink Diamond.
No, I don't believe the whole "Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond" theory. I just think Pink Diamond, due to vanity, deliberately made her custom gem line have a close resemblance to her. From what we've seen of her, she's desperate to prove herself and to have something of her own. So when given the chance to create her own gem line, of course she would make it so that no one could possibly look at it without thinking "This was made by Pink Diamond and it is awesome."
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe Rose is Pink Diamond theory is just one of those things that become so ingrained in a fandom that a large part of it refuses to let it go despite the show repeatedly making it obvious not to be the case. Sure, it could have been interested but that it's not true doesn't mean what's going to happen isn't also interesting.
Something to prove might as well be the hat for Pink Diamond's Gems
Looking at you Jasper and Amethyst
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPersonally, I think Crystal Gem Pearl really was originally Rose Quartz's personal Pearl. A huge part of her character is that she still thinks of herself as Rose's Pearl, and she's struggling with identity issues since Rose isn't around anymore. Her meeting someone else (albeit someone who has a vague resemblance to Rose) was a sign that she's finally moving past her loss.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI don't see what evidence there is about Pearl not belonging to, say, Pink Diamond - in fact, I'd say that's very likely at this point, considering how Pearl is apparently unable to reveal stuff about Pink Diamond's shattering. Really, we still know precious little about her.
If that was the case, then why not say it outright?

Oh God! Natural light! One was shown as nigh-impossible several seasons ago. The other hasn't gained any hard evidence supporting it, but there hasn't been any against it either.

The big issue with that is if that were the case, you think it would would have been said by now. That also wouldn't explain Pearl's conditioning, as Rose 1) wouldn't do something like that and 2) if she could, Pearl wouldn't take pride in being her Secret-Keeper, she'd find the secrets a burden.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.If Crystal Gem Pearl really was Pink Diamond's Pearl, I imagine she had a pink color scheme while working for Pink Diamond. It's not impossible — the Crystal Gems have been shown to alter the appearances of their Hard Light bodies after being poofed.

In "Rose's Scabbard", the hologram of Rose Quartz flat out called Pearl "My Pearl". Maybe that was just endearment or maybe it meant something more.
The funny thing is they both have something to prove for very different reasons. Amethyst wants to prove she's as perfect as Rose claimed she was despite being a defective runt. Jasper wants to prove that she really is the perfect Quartz despite her track record of failures (being unable to save her Diamond, being unable to bring down Rose Quartz, constantly losing to Fusions, being unable to keep Lapis...).

Disgusted, but not surprisedYeah, it's not specifically that she had to have belonged to our Rose Quartz (though she probably did), but there's no way she belonged to a Diamond. Diamond's Pearls are all varying shades of a singular color, the same color as the Diamonds themselves, and our Pearl has a lot of different colors. Pearl has very light cream-colored skin, orange hair, blue eyes, and typically wears blue, orange, and pink. Blue Diamond's Pearl is entirely in shades of blue, and Yellow Diamond's Pearl is entirely in shades of yellow.
Yeah "so I got a Pearl for being successful in the colonization process" doesn't seem like a particularly long story. Even less so if Rose was give a Pearl by default.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Now that we've finally seen Pink Diamond, I suppose it's we may as well compare and contrast her clothes/coloration/etc.
◊ to Pearl's.
I think Pearl's "The Answer"-era look
◊ would be the most relevant.

I already brought that up in this post.
Disgusted, but not surprised
