[up][up] Or that they have a greater drive than most. Where it might be uncommon or anomalous for other Gem types, Rose Quartzes had it much more often.

[up][up] Blue Diamond specifically wants to avoid shattering the bubbled Rose Quartzes because they once belonged to Pink.

In a twisted way, that makes Pink Diamond Steven’s grandma.

I don't think Gems have entirely programmed personalities. Rose didn't rebel because of her programming, but because of her experiences and personality. I could also see rebellions happening now and then. After all, they do have gem poofing tech. It was just that the Crystal Gems managed to not instantly be destroyed and gained traction.

You know, I could easily see Pink initially refusing help in stopping the rebellion, in an effort to prove herself. By the time the other Diamonds stepped in, the rebellion was too large.

It would be interesting to fin out where the Diamonds come from. I don't image they're made like any other Gems, and they probably all weren't created at the same time.

I like the theory that they were naturally formed and created the other gems in their image.

So, Yellow specifically told Nephrite to "destroy them." Is it possible that there was intelligent life actually resisting the invasion, or was she merely telling them to destroy an "infestation" of animals in the way of a kindergarten?

The way Rose resembles her creator makes me think Pink took the 'made in their image thing ' literally instead of figuratively, but I wonder why,was she so determined to prove herself that she made an overpowered gem thinking it would impress the others? Or was it ego thing,in that she saw the Rose gems as the perfect reflection of herself?

So many questions!

It's kind of amusing how similar what Yellow Diamond said ("Then why don't you act like it?" ) is to something Connie told Lapis and Peridot ("We're both thousands of years older than you." "Then act like it!").

What are thoughts on Pink being an off-color? I don't really think that makes sense because she seems to have been just as recognized and revered as the others, she just got into the game later.

#52600: Jan 7th 2018 at 3:23:29 PM

Her being smaller than Yellow or Blue could be a defect (although I don't assume it is), but what is enough to be considered "off color" is subjective and defined by gem society. If all the diamonds say she isn't a off color, then she's not an off color.
