Stevonnie shaves!

"Jungle Moon" is unique, in that, for the first time ever, Zach Callison isn't in it. Every episode prior to this one has had Steven, but in this one we only get Stevonnie.

Expect "Pink was defective/an off color" to pop up a lot now. A lot of people have decided the entire dynamic in their heads and are talking about it as if the story has confirmed it.

Stevonnie looks good with stubble, but that's just me.

Hope that their design keeps it going forward.

Though that could just be Stevonnie projecting.

I don't think that was the case because in the Connie's house dream scene it was Stevonnie who was small, not Pryanca who was gigantic. Stevonnie wasn't perceiving their mom to be big, but themselves to be small I think that is an indication that this is how Pink perceived herself.

Also, the crack in the window was at Stevonnie's height in the end. if that was indeed where Pink punched long ago, that means she was that tall.

[up] Well alright then.

Pink was that small.

I wonder how Diamonds get so big then.

Was Pink's palanquin really small?

[up]Actually, it was. Apparently someone even noticed some months ago. That blog post still estimated wrong Pink's size but, still. SU proportions are always funky anyway, but it seems they deliberatedly made the palanquin smaller than Blue's.

[up][up]The "Defective" theory does seem like the simplest answer, insofar that doesn't require extra explanation. It is not that the other diamonds are big, it is Pink who is small. Maybe she overcooked, like Amethyst. Though this is assuming she was made the regular way, of course, which is far from certain.

Hm, interesting then. That post mentions a theory that the Diamonds, unlike all other Gems might grow. That could be neat if true.

There is also the theory that White is enormous, Blue and Yellow are just really big, with Pink being small(er).

I don't buy it. I really think anything but Pink being dead would be be a poor story move.

Yeah I can't see that happening. If the C Gs bubbled pink, they would have just told Steven that. "We pretended she's dead so Homeworld wouldn't try a rescue mission" or something along those lines.

Anyway. Being under Pink's command now sounds, frankly, terrifying. I can now see her administration being one of incompetence and pettiness, along with the authoritarianism of the Diamonds.

I'm glad it doesn't seem like they're going to try and make her out to be the "good" Diamond, to try and add some fake moral ambiguity to the situation.

I did see a theory she was going to be the Joffrey Baratheon Diamond, not the good one. We'll see where this goes.

They would have just told Steven that
They've never done that lol. Every time he's learned something secret up to this point it's been after he learned it secondhand from someone outside the Crystal gems, then Steven brings it up, they wince guiltily and admit they hid it from him. It's like a formula at this point lol.

I kind of thing letting him think Rose shattered someone is a bit different.

Yeah, but this is traumatizing Steven, and the response from the Crystal Gems has been to soothe Steven by justifying killing Pink. Showing him the truth would be easier and better for everyone if they only bubbled her.

xanderiskander Since: Mar, 2012
#52548: Jan 5th 2018 at 9:04:22 PM

I think before that happened they'd have been more worried about him meeting her if he knows she's in a bubble. Him being traumatised is a more recent thing. They've been more concerned with protecting him than being better about helping him with his feelings.

Though the exact details of how it happened seem to be up for debate, it doesn't seem like they were debating that it happened at the trial. At the very least I'd image they still had (have?) her shards.
