I'm half surprised that nobody is complaining about Steven missing the chance to have some long standing questions answered and world building built
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhat we did see raised some interesting questions. Or rather what we didn't see. Rose wasn't in the flashback scene.
I'm also thinking Pearl might be the only one who knows the really story, and I think we can assume that she's literally incapable of telling him. The possibility of breaking whatever programming is stopping her is something I can see the show going into.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I love how - while all the Crystal Gems love their own aspects of Earth and the life they've found there - Peridot seems to have grown to love the Earth itself the most out of any Gem we've met (except maybe Rose, but we still haven't truly "met" Rose and probably never will). She loves farming. She loves seeing things grow. She just loves... life, in all forms. Even when it comes to humanity - she has the same limited respect for human culture the others do, but she shows a pure passion for embracing it, for reasons beyond the hedonism that Amethyst usually shows. It's really sweet. Every time she makes a speech about Earth it just reminds me how far she's come.
Though the latest Kindergarten episode brings up the point that because of this, she and Amethyst share a sort of guilt and self pity beneath it all - Amethyst for being the result of destruction of life, Peridot for being fully willing to help it along.

The most plausible theory I've read on the subject so far is that Pearl made a promise/vow to Rose to protect Steven, other theories include Pearl being conditioned by White Diamond so she can't reveal her involvement, some even suggestimg that Rose herself conditioned Pearl somehow

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI'll admit, I slightly prefer Steven explicitly not caring about these things, because then it's a character-specific trait, even if it's not one I relate to. That's better than the lack of questions being presented as normal or just happening for the plot's sake.
Granted, that doesn't excuse for Steven for passing up information that could well serve a dire functional purpose instead of just sating curiosity.
Steven's feeling on Rose also seem to have taken a backseat to more present issues, even after hearing Zircon's argument in court.
Maybe it's just for dramatic effect, but the way those plants in the Kindergarten suddenly turned to dust is odd. If the soil was simply lacking what they need to survive, wouldn't they slowly wither as if they had no soil? It seems, after the plants took root, their Life Energy was drained out. But if the injectors are inactive and aren't sucking up that energy, where did it go?
There's a really weird Freeze-Frame Bonus in "Sadie Killer": A picture of Dr. Maheswaran and the Cluster Gem she tried to treat in "Nightmare Hospital" is on the cover of one of Sadie's movie tapes. Did Sadie buy security footage stolen from the hospital!?
Maybe it's the extreme of no nature can grow there...
Nature refuses to even exist there...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Jeez, maybe the Injectors don't just remove land's ability to sustain life, but create an Eldritch Location actively hostile to non-gem life.
That's actually incredible...
Gems have created some devilish tech...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I mean they're immortal parasites made of hard light that seem to consume the concept of life itself and have at least some mastery over the fundamental elements of the universe, time, and alternate dimensions.
It's not that hard to spin them as some form of Humanoid Abomination
Oh really when?but if that's the case, then what does that make the corrupted gems?
Just regular abominations, I guess.
