@32_Footsteps: That's actually a skin marking, not a visor.
Grumpyface doesn't mind it being portrayed as
a visor
, though.
You can find a bunch of good fanart being posted on Twitter under the hashtag SUワンドロ
(one-hour drawing). As you'd expect from the tag, it started in the Japanese fandom, but has spread more generally.
I have watched up through the end of Season Two, though I have skipped unimportant eps. And here are my thoughts thus far.
So far this show is good on a whole but is patchy. While the show has had lots of great episodes like "Ocean Gem", "Jailbreak", "Nightmare Hospital", and "Message Recieved", it's also had quite a few that bored me, such as "Island Adventure", "Alone Together", "Historical Friction", and "Steven's Birthday" which were marred by boring premises. Personally I find it hard to get engaged in stories like "Lars and Sadie go to an island" or "Steven puts on a play about the town" so I did not enjoy those kind of episodes.
The animation in the show is good, but far from outstanding (Though it does have some very lovely bits, like the end of "Laser Light Cannon"), the musical numbers are generally good and far above ones in others kids shows, (Though I was not a fan of "Let Me Drive My Van...", "Just A Comet", "Dear Old Dad", or "Sadie's Song") and I like all the characters (except Steven, who I find very annoying.) I also appreciate the LGBTQ+ representation in the show, they've done a great job of not using stereotypes at all.
Overall, I give the show a thumbs up from what i've seen and will watch more.
By the way, the episodes i've watched:
1A: "Laser Light Cannon", "Cheeseburger Backpack", "Bubble Buddies", "Steven's Lion", "Giant Woman", "Steven The Swordfighter", "Lion 2: The Movie", "An Indirect Kiss", "Mirror Gem", "Ocean Gem"
1B: All episodes except "Keep Beach City Weird", "Garnet's Universe", "Open Book", and "Shirt Club".
2: All episodes except "Say Uncle", "Rising Tides, Crashing Skies", and "Sadie's Song".

Just another day in the life of Jimmy Nutrin![]()
If they still find Steven annoying by the point that they were airing Sadie's Song, then I think that's far enough in the show for Steven to have already grown on you. Steven probably just doesn't meet their preferences for what they like in a character.

Steven's strengths really are on display in the Barn arc, so IDK if they've really seen Steven at his best yet.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Steven used to be my least favorite part of this show, now he's one of my favorite characters in any entertainment medium. He's a perfect deconstruction of what teenage boy should be and I don't think there's a character quite like Steven on television. There are very few characters that exudes the amount of compassion and empathy that Steven does.
Eh, Steven is still on my lowest tier of "liked" characters in Steven Universe - to some extent, I get why he is that way (I'm of the camp that, try as they might, the Crystal Gems in general aren't particularly good parental units, and Steven should probably live with Greg), but there are times I just find him grating. Also, and I'm probably in the minority on this, but I find that his voice gets grating about half the time.
That said, he definitely improves as the series progresses. He's by far at his most annoying in the first five episodes (my least favorite episode by far is "Gem Glow" - I find it a very bad introduction to the show), but he starts to grow out of it, and I find that he's honestly a pretty good character as of around "Lion 2: The Movie."
Also, I think that "Island Adventure" is way underrated. I thought it had a really good split as to Beach City/action, plus that episode clarifies so much about the Sadie/Lars/Steven dynamic (plus works as a microcosm of the Beach City/Steven dynamic) that it makes pretty much all the Beach City-centric episodes work better when you keep it in mind.
Besides, "Full Disclosure" has a really good subtext as to why the Beach City episodes are needed.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I can't listen to the podcast right now, so can someone tell me if they talk about something like this during it?
- Prior to "Jailbreak" revealing that Garnet was a fusion, an idea was considered to have Steven finding out when he sees Ruby and Sapphire unfusing in order to go into their separate rooms in the temple as Garnet wouldn't have one. Additionally, the original reason for them staying fused all the time was due to one of them being injured.

Hm...
{Several thousand years ago...}
YELLOW DIAMOND: Okay. Two things, Pink. First, well, you blew up another planet, obviously.
YELLOW PEARL: Yep.
YELLOW DIAMOND: What's that, three for you now?
YELLOW PEARL: Think so.
YELLOW DIAMOND: Second, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR STUPID ROTTED SKULL, YOU DUMB MINERAL!?!
No idea if this actually works, but I'd figure I'd give it a shot.
