So, does...this show still exist or what?
Seems gone.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Amber Cragg recently mentioned she was "on hiatus" (storyboard artists do a few episodes in a row then take a few weeks off), which has really thrown off my expectation of when the season is going to be finished.
Assessing the long term rate episodes have premiered at, you'd figure they'll finish season five by January at the latest.
However, the Cragg's comment would indicate there are some episodes that haven't even finished storyboarding yet. Jackie Buscarino (producer) said on the podcast that it takes 39 weeks for an episode to go from storyboard to finished, which would mean it's not going to be finished until at least June.

So there's either 12+ episodes already finished but unaired right now, or production has undergone some sort of slowdown.

Most of my guesses hinge on whether or not it's even possible for the show to go on past the fifth season at this point.
Here's one possibility: The show is ending at season five, by the creators' decision, and the network is letting them spend some extra time (and, by extension, money) on it.
The main issues is, would they actually do that? One could argue such a thing as excessively generous, considering the show's done fine with its regular timeframe/budget. Or, put another way, what would make the extra investment result in a net gain where it wouldn't anywhere else?
Here is another guess: the show is still being considered for a sixth season, and so production has slowed to avoid the problems of starting it back up from a complete shutdown in case there is one.
But then, this has the same budget problem: if the network wasn't sure about spending money to make more episodes, why would they spend (a smaller, but still considerably amount) of money that not giving them more episodes?
Thinking about this has made me think the most likely solution is that there was 'not a slowdown, that storyboarding really is finished, and CN are just storing up finished episodes as usual for however they're going to air them.

Shouldn't Greg still be receiving continuous royalties for the jingle, by the way?
My various fanfics.Aivi and Surasshu being sneaky.
(Note the title- it's an anagram of "The Off Colors")
I'm thinking back to the Attack the Light arcade booth you can see in the background of Funland, and wondering if it's actually about Crying Breakfast Friends.
Given season five is going to be pretty eventful, I'm guessing we'll either get a series of one-week/one-hour events plus some weekly premiers, or everything in a month of premiers.
I'm not sure which is more likely: On one hand, multiple events let them hype things up, while I'm uncertain how well "month of premiers" events do in non-summer months (CN have done it six times so far, four of which were in the summer, and have already gone back to weekly premiers now that summer is over). On the other hand, they've stored up so many episodes (10+ with no signs of an airing this month) that you'd think the former would have started already.
Did anyone bother to check how the ratings were for the "Summer of Steven"? That will probably be a big factor in if they do it again.
Which one do you guys want/expect?

Alright so this video was uploaded a few days ago and it's been making the rounds. This You Tuber in question seems to have a fair bit of popularity to her and she was even referenced by some people on Rebel Taxi's podcast, so unlike all those fifty million generic cartoon channels she seems to have some degree of clout to her:
Now, while I do see some of her points, I also disagree with some of them. She's a bit overly nitpicky about some aspects of the show like the composition of certain scenes are done, pointing specifically to the scene of Pearl singing "It's Over, Isn't It" as an example. Now, while that is something I don't really think is a huge problem, she does mention some other things that I do have grumbles over, such as the aforementioned issues with the inconsistent models (something that I feel like OK KO has done a much better job with), the show forcing itself constantly to be in Steven's perspective, the really glacial and odd pacing of the arcs, and the fight scenes lacking a lot of weight to them. I do feel she's a bit overly negative but I think the more time has gone by the more I've started to realize some of the flaws in Steven Universe's narrative that are getting a bit frustrating to deal with. I still adore the show, don't get me wrong, but it's reaching that point where the flaws are becoming a lot more evident than they were before.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

What would be the point of that? She's already hit rock bottom and been tortured by Lapis for some six months already.
