@51400 I think the actual delivery was even more chilling, because Steven was right there being addressed directly-yet-indirectly by Blue Diamond. The line itself was great, but the fact that they combined an implied Fate Worse than Death with an unstated I'm Standing Right Here was very well done.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. That said, the trailer's use of the line ended up kind of a Red Herring—Blue Diamond ultimately prioritized finding out what happened to Pink Diamond over making Steven suffer or die.
If you were in Lars's position, apparently spending a lot of your time wandering bizarre alien landscapes, what music would you bring?
@51404 It didn't strike me as much as a Red Herring, but maybe that's because BD really was out for a pound of flesh, so to speak, at the opening of the trial. Blue Zircon did deflect her attention pretty well, but that was a development, not a swerve.
As for music... well, Lars strikes me as a metalhead, and I'm really not up on the genre, so who knows what he would have picked. That said, I'm kinda curious as to whether the Off Colors had their own songs that they've introduced to Lars.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Though my question was asking the posters what they would listen to in that kind of situation. The landscapes of Homeworld remind me of Roger Dean paintings, so I'm mostly play a bunch of prog rock.
I guess I tried putting myself almost literally in Lars' position, and realized I lacked context for it (for that matter, if you go with him being into industrial... I still lack that context). I'd just bring my normal music, hoping for something to connect me back to home (think of that as the Star-Lord answer).
I sometimes wonder if Peridot was just extremely isolated due to being a technician - I think maybe she just never had exposure to music, while many other gems do.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Sugar said the next season would be focused on a murder mystery, right?
I was kinda hoping they would shift the focus away from Pink Diamond already. The show had been running in place with that plot thread for an entire season and just recently did something with it, but by now, I really would just like to see more of Homeworld and Lars. I'm kind of sick of hearing about Pink Diamond.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541There's no reason to shift focus away from that yet...
Like that doesn't make sense...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Honestly it's the fault of Season 4 for letting it hang on "Rose killed Pink Diamond" for an entire season without even hinting that it was a mystery. It was a great reveal, and I'm interested in where the mystery is going, but if it was going to be a mystery plot making it seem like objective fact for a full season was a bad call.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. It's been pointed out there are plenty of ways to answer this mystery without negating the moral compromise angle.
And Steven's character arc in season four wasn't based entirely on that. There was at least as much focus on (what he perceived as) his own failures. If Steven was still holding Rose in such high regard, he actually might have felt even worse about those.

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverFinally got around to listening to the first podcast. I was afraid it would kind of the rehash the pre-production stuff in the artbook, but there was a lot I hadn't heard before. The artbook mentioned Rebecca Sugar talked to Genndy Tartakovsky while coming up with her initial pitch, but didn't mention her talk with Mike Mignola ("He was working on Hellboy in Hell—can I say 'hell'? Oh, I just said it... several times.") about mythological motifs. Or deciphering the mysteries of early 2000s One Piece bootleg subs.
The new podcast is out, and Hilary Florido makes an appearance credited as "storyboard supervisor", rather than as a storyboard artist, which is what she's been in any aired episode. She wasn't in the credits in any of the Wanted episode at all, so apparently she took a break before starting her new position.
Either way, between Florido's promotion and Zuke only having a few boarded episodes left to air, the next few episode should have two new storyboard artists. One of them is probably Amber Cragg (unless she comes later because another storyboard artist needed to be replaced), but the other is unknown.
