@50578 Wait a minute... that's a flawed argument. You're missing a logical step in the argument. Yes, Eyeball was a witness. Yes, Pink Diamond was shattered in front of her entourage. However, what we don't know is if only her entourage was present for her shattering. There are plenty of reasons why someone from a different Diamond's court (for example, if Eyeball was accompanying one of Yellow Diamond's delivery specialists who was bringing something to Pink Diamond) would potentially be present.
In short, we have some idea of who was present when PD was killed. However, we do not have anything conclusive as to who was not there (and, thus, no conclusions one could make about who was there based on who wasn't there). Eyeball may have been a former member of PD's court, but we can't conclusively say for sure that she was yet.
@50585 Wait... how are your pronouncing "sapphire" that gives it three syllables? I say it with two.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. It comes down to the fact that some people pronounce "fire" as a two syllable word and some people pronounce "fire" as one syllable.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Merriam-Webster
says Sapphire is two syllables. I trust that more than dictionary.com.
I wasn't aware that there was a syllable shift for "sapphire" (and probably "fire," while we're on the subject) in some accents. I guess it isn't any stranger than the fact that some people claim "here" has two syllables.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.> Garnet is what the writers intended her name to be from the beginning and it's good they didn't change it just for a dumb joke.
Just be glad she's simply Garnet and not Carbuncle of all things,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbuncle_(gemstone)
In a What Could Have Been, it would have been interesting if they had named corrupted gems something other than "corrupted (blank)," such that Carbuncle would have been the appropriate name for a corrupted Ruby, and things like that. Totally get why they wouldn't do that, of course, but it would have been fascinating.
Completely unrelated, something I just wondered... do shards of shattered gems inherently have the ability to reform into parts, or did Homeworld have to do something in order to make them able to partially reform? I don't think we've seen any gem shards that haven't potentially been experimented upon by Homeworld. I kinda wonder because it's thus an open question as to what would happen if a present-day gem was just shattered - it'd be pretty horrific if a host of disembodied limbs suddenly manifested and started acting out. Also, there's the Fridge Horror of just how much experimentation Homeworld was doing if that's the source of manifested limbs and the like.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Word of God said the monster in together breakfast was a gem that was ground up and used as pigment to make the ink on the scroll it escaped from.
My guess is broken gems just kind of haunt the world as "ghosts" or zombies. Kind of makes killing them an even bigger guilt trip that way.
"Fire" definitely has two syllables. For some reason official sources often claim otherwise, but just say the word. It's got three distinct allophones! Just listen to it. It's exactly the same as if we spelled it "fiyer" and if that were the case you bet Webster would be claiming it has two syllables.
I don't even know how you would pronounce fire with one syllable. I try but it just sounds like I'm quickly saying two every time.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541I don't know what you're hearing, but I looked up scenes with Ruby earlier to confirm and it's not what I did. But I don't think it matters anyway.

I think there won't be a Jade. Jade doesn't really exist, there's two minerals Nephrite and Jadeite that are both identified as Jade. Bismuth has already mentioned the former. I imagine if there IS a Jade it's a Nephrite/Jadeite fusion.
