You know, with all the hullabaloo over the trial, I wonder if we're forgetting the speculation from shortly before you: Did Rose (or any of the other of her kind) work at the Zoo? Zircon saying she Rose was a "stratagem" (presumably means "strategist") is evidence to the contrary, though that's far from conclusive.

White Diamond is a character so enigmatic she literally does not exist in the story yet. She probably exists in general, but we've literally never seen any direct references to her outside of the illustrations on Moonbase. Everything else is just conjecture based on what we already know.
I'm not saying that WD doesn't exist, but compared to the teasing that we got for the other Diamonds White Diamond has been generally held back, which is why I don't like the idea of WD being responsible for everything.
Watch as it turns out White is a Dark Lord on Life Support or something. That being said, White Diamond has gotten about as much build up as Pink. You have the statue, and various murals which may or may not link to her (one in particular depicts a white gem with spiky hair fighting Rose)

My money's on a Genius Loci. Either way, her being fully ambulatory would feel kind of disappointing, because then she doesn't have much of an excuse for being absent from the trial.
Unless she's just agoraphobic, which would be kind of hilarious.

Suppose White is every bit as cold, emotionless, and rational as Peridot projected onto Yellow Diamond, or at least is a great deal closer to the kind of Übermensch that Peridot imagined the Diamonds to be. With an "army" consisting of a half dozen gems stranded on Earth, a relic of the ancient past like Rose Quartz is completely irrelevant to the modern day functioning of the Empire, and would not require the supreme leader of Homeworld to divert her attention from the presumably daunting task of administering an Empire consisting of hundreds of billions of subjects scattered across dozens of star systems.
In fact, that's probably lowballing it seeing as Homeworld is basically a Super Hive World and could easily have a population in the trillions all by itself.

I mean, Homeworld is seemingly a Ecumenopolis with a hyper-stratified society with the elites lording over trillions of impoverished peasants from their shining spires in the clouds. Throw in the barren and long abandoned surface inhabited by outcasts and mutants, and you've basically got the Gem equivalent of a Hive World.

@50470 Well, in the case of Peridot, she didn't bubble any of the captured Crystal Gems because she didn't know how - flash forward to "Kindergarten Kid," and she had to ask Steven how to take care of the corrupted gem once she had poofed it. A bit of How Do I Shot Web?, but it makes sense, if you think about it - when would Peri have even needed to know about how to bubble before that point?
I always assumed that Jasper similarly didn't know how to bubble. She wasn't exactly the "take prisoners" type for the most part. She simply never had the need to learn before then.
Besides, the main reason they failed there was because Steven was a Spanner in the Works - the two had no way of knowing in "Jail Break" that their containment methods wouldn't work on him until they saw that he had gotten out... and keep in mind that, by that point, Steven had already sprung the other Crystal Gems and their counterattack began. He was a major Didn't See That Coming for Team Homeworld in that episode.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I think the answer is that the Rose Quartzes had such exceptional skills and abilities that they could fill multiple roles in ways that other gems could not,so you could have Quartzes working at the zoo and being part of her entourage,Rose being a strategist did surprise me,what better gem to lead a rebellion then someone capable of devising military tactics? It would indicate to me that Rose did not work at the zoo previously as some people have suspected, but part of Pink Diamond's trusted servents
As for why none of Pink Diamond's entourage tried to save her when Rose decided to attack her, her entire court may have been turned against her without her fully realising it,or they were that scared of Rose that they didn't dare intervene and only reacted afterwards.

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI like the idea of White Diamond being another unhealthy way of coping. Blue Diamond wallows in her sadness, Yellow Diamond represses her feelings and channels them into aggression and rage, and White Diamond remains distant and empty. After Pink died and Earth got corrupted, White Diamond just... left. She still pops in every so that she isn't totally absent, but she spends most of her time in the further reaches of the galaxy, possibly expanding the empire or just straight up living a quiet life far away from the Diamond Authority. Of course, with the unbalanced nature of Blue and Yellow this is causing serious imbalance on Homeworld.

Getting back to the point though, I don't think Jasper or Peridot knew how to bubble gems back that. For a while I thought only the Crystal Gems knew how, but the bubbled Rose Quartz gems (presumably by Pink Diamond) and the bubble the Zircon prosecutor around Lars head showed at least some Homeworld gems can do it.
