Lots of people seem to think Lars is a dead man walking just by the skull on his shirt, which is either foreshadowing or a very clever red herring
To date,no major character has ever died on Steve Universe, but I wouldn't rule out someone dying in the final because that's where it's most likely to happen

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverThat's what "they" would have you believe.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. He could be bi, I suppose (or pan?).
That said, I don't think I've seen anyone ship him with anyone other than Connie. I suppose it helps that they genuinely have chemistry together.
Oh God! Natural light! There's no other kids to do that honestly...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.True. I suppose I'm surprised that people took to the canon ship so well. A testament to the good writing here, I think.

Oh God! Natural light!I feel like the people who want genuinely good representation and the Het Is Ew people generally are not the same, so I'm not surprised. The first one does not preclude heterosexuals from existing or also having good, developed relationships.
I mean, this fandom apparently has it's darker underbelly like harassment and threats to story-boarders but, again, those types aren't generally into things for constructive purposes to begin with.
It probably helps that the reason Steven is like he is is genuinely sweet and Connie is also "good representation". Which still feels weird for me to type, but I think you all know what I mean.

Being friends is a relationship...
~chuckling~
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's pretty clear that their relationship is meant to be romantic. "Here Comes a Though" contains a direct parallels between Ruby and Sapphire, and Steven and Connie. It's one of the few cases where a straight relationship is confirmed by comparing it to a canon gay relationship I might add.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Most of the people I know who dislike heterosexual relationships in media don't really hate them on principle so much as how prevalent they can be (at the expense of any other kind of relationship), as well how many feel forced and indulge in tired and/or unhealthy tropes.
Fortunately, none of that appears to be true for Stevonnie.
Oh God! Natural light!I mean, ignoring the forced part, most relationships would be heterosexual even if everyone in the world was completely accepting of everything else.
This show has plenty of straight relationships or implication, the idea that it's somehow rare here seems strange. It just doesn't act like those are the only kind of relationships.

I mean, I'm not saying they're rare here, so as they're generally well-written and avoid common pitfalls, plus what you said.
They probably won't, she's still 12 after all.

I thought what Rhyme Beat meant was that it's unusual to have a straight relationship be "proven" to be romantic by comparing it to a canon same-sex relationship.
Yeah, that's how I feel about most het relationships. I don't dislike them on principle, but I don't tend to like many of them because a lot of them seem forced/just there for the sake of having a relationship.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.

There's only one way to be fair here. They have to kill everyone!
