Well of course the real answer (for Steven or Rose) is "make other people suffer".

I doubt corruption. I really doubt it. That is probably not even close to what the Diamonds intend. Like, I'm thinking the worst that CN will allow the show to even talk about. There's a lot the Diamonds could probably due to the gem itself that goes well beyond corruption. Steven loses his constitution when he realizes what they have planned.
I doubt they'd do even that, nor do I want this show to become Darker and Edgier. But that promo dared us to come up with the worst possible punishment. But I do want the Diamonds to be proven to be the viscous dictators they are, even if they love each other. And since corruption wasn't enough to prove that in the eyes of this fandom, what can they (attempt) to do that will?
But. As Blue said in the promo: "I wonder what [Rose] thinks we're going to do with her, because I want to do something worse." So imagine the worst punishment that comes to your mind. That's not it.
I am confident they will try to kill Lars in front of Steven, though.

Weird question, but who's your "favorite" Hate Sink character? Because thinking about it now, this show has a lot of them, and none of them are actual "villains".
Edit: And this question is twofold: I'm asking both about which one you love to hate most, and also if there's one you actually just genuinely like (against the majority opinion, I would assume).

Kevin. I think he is a great character to display to younger audiences: how to deal with harassment and an invasion of privacy.
And his asshole nature is also hilarious. "I'm like this because it's funny!" At the same time, because of the above, I'd feel no sympathy (and would probably laugh) if he suffers.

Lars is my Love to Hate character at this point. Kevin and Greg's ex-manager (I forget his name) seem too one-dimensional to get any real hate from me. Lars is a classic case of someone who rejects his good feelings because they make him feel weak, and his dichotomy of acting so unlikeable and distant while also wanting to be a better person are why I Love to Hate him.
Seeing as how he'll be Steven's companion for the upcoming arc, I'm interested to see what character development he'll get, and if any of it will stick by the time they get back to Earth. Plus, someone made art of "Stars"
, which not only is a perfect name, but now something I want to see.
Just saw a stream of Lion 4... was I the only one who thought of Chinatown at the "I'm my mom and my sister?!" line?
The character I love to hate is Jasper because she sucks.
Lars I should feel this way but frankly he's just too annoying and I feel anything he could bring to the table will be mitigated by the fact that Steven is facing the Diamonds with him there to make confused noises. Of course it'll end with him making a grand heroic gesture but it's way too little, too late.
Love to dislike is a thing that exist?
I thought only "liking things" existed.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.@ 49210: Woo!

The trope page describes Love to Hate as "a term used to describe villains we enjoy. We love them for various reasons, such as excellent character development, being hilarious, getting the best writing, having a memorable personality, or being lucky enough to have a top notch performance by their actor. But at the same time the fans still want to see the baddie get their comeuppance in the end. There is still hatred, after all."
So it's enjoying a villain but still wanting to see them get their comeuppance.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I guess Jasper is my Love to Hate character, I dunno. Whenever the Diamonds get more screentime I'd probably feel that way, so far it's only a bit towards Yellow.
Of course, I find it hard to label Lars a "Love to Hate" character when he's largely been an annoyance to me until the last few episodes.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I'm surprised nobody's said their Love to Hate character is Aquamarine. She's as exceedingly entertaining as she is needlessly cruel.
The bomb's over right? Yeah, I can say that.
To answer my own question, or me Marty is probably the "best" as a Hate Sink. Ronaldo is to annoying for me to get any legitimate enjoyment out of, and I can't hate Lars or Andy because I understand why the characters exist and think they do a fairly decent job portraying them sympathetically without actually excusing them.
Onion is just Onion.

I think they have something worse than shattering, corruption, or shard fusion in store for "Rose."
