I don't want to hate Amethyst,so part of me thinks that's way too jerkish, even for her

I mean yeah she's done in the episode itself but I dunno..maybe my heart is made of ice or something

Something from the last episode that I noticed: Lapis's talk about sleep specifies that gems never even had the concept before coming to Earth.

That must have been one of the weirdest thing about Earth to explain, because even today humans have very little idea as to why we need sleep.

Eh, I already disliked Amethyst pre-Smoky Quartz.

So, I was watching an outdated video on fan theories, and it brought up an interesting point: if Rose did shatter Pink Diamond, how did she do it? Eyeball, who claims to have witnessed it, says that what she remember the most about Rose was her sword. But the sword was specifically made by Bismuth to only destroy the physical forms of gems.

I mean, she could have poofed and then shattered Pink Diamond. That's more reasonable than, say, Rose using a super secret technique, like a double lariat suplex dropkick, because otherwise I think Eyeball would have mentioned it. But it feels weird that Rose would shatter Pink Diamond when she could have bubbled her. Although I could see that. Just bringing up a wild mass guess.

Barring poof-then-shatter or something else we've not heard of, the Breaking Point seems the most likely option

I was under the impression the Breaking Point was inside Bismuth's Forge ever since she showed it to Rose. Could anyone other than Bismuth enter either the Forge or the place where the Breaking Point was kept?

Unlikely since you need her gem to access it,and even shapeshifting doesn't change the gem's type

It seems most likely that Rose shattered Pink Diamond with the sword.

Connie's sword has blood on it!

Or, dust. It'd be dust or something, wouldn't it?

No one said gemstones were particularly durable, she could have just used her bare hands and a hard surface.

I like the deliciously ironic idea of Rose shattering her with her shield. Diamonds are the hardest substance on Earth but are susceptible to blunt force. Eyeball could just want to give Pink a more badass death in her mind. That's just my headcanon though.

Hm... if the sword could shatter a diamond, then it could also shatter any other gem. Obviously the Breaking Point is just better at shattering, but if a sword could do it, why not mass produce them?

@Rhyme Beat: If Eyeball actually witnessed Pink Diamond's shattering and had it happened with Rose's shield, I think she would've mentioned it. But I do like the idea. Maybe Pink Diamond unleashed an attack that Rose blocked with the shield, and the attack's recoil shattered her?

I imagine the rebels did not have the resources to mass produce Rose's sword, plus it's a symbol as well as weapon,it loses it's impact if everyone has one

I'll reiterate: gemstones are not very durable compared to how strong gems are. Jasper was confident she could shatter Amethyst's barehanded.

I don't see why Rose couldn't have shattered Pink Diamond with her sword. When Bismuth said it couldn't shatter Gems, I thought she meant that the sword wasn't built to shatter Gems in one go, unlike the breaking point, but it still could shatter Gems.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.

Well...if you want to visualize the idea of Rosey hacking away at PD in an effort to shatter her with the Sword.

That would be a nice image, but Randomness imagines that she would something more effective.
