Is there an issue with the ratings of the show?

Something about them going down with the Friday night slot.

I don't understand how those two shows get better rating than SU

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

I understand PPG getting that high...it's better than this show.

But this is better than TTG...

[up] No you dont, please stop randomly saying things like that. Its REALLY annoying.

And PPG 2016 doesnt get better ratings than Steven Universe. Dont make stuff up please.

EDIT: Didnt see that Tumblr entry. FUCK. Oh well, its only till April, then CN will get the true ratings from the newly implemented Total Content initiative.

It's true, you don't really need to say every vague thing that pops into your head.

That said, let's hope the series keeps up.

It's been fun.

Why would PPG and TT Go be beating Steven in ratings?

No Continuity Lock-Out.

The comedy in the first two shows being more crass?

Steven getting a rep that would preclude certain parents from letting their kids watch it.

My theories anyway.

Also worth considering: Is this ratings difference a regular occurrence or was it a one time slip this week?

[up]That too. Ratings can vary wildly week to week so better to look at monthly trends.

Yeah. It could be as simple as TTG and PPG having particularly good episodes this week or, perhaps mirroring some of this threads sentiments, the negative feelings towards last week's Rocknaldo are impacting this week.

I highly doubt the ratings are declining because of the show getting a bad rep, but the other points make sense.

CN apparently didn't advertise the episode very well or at all?

If you're going to have a show that airs new content very sparsely you need to make a huge deal about it

I'm kind of restating what others have said here, but I imagine the drop is from poor advertising and a lot of people Rage Quitting after "Rocknaldo".

Rocknaldo had shit ratings too, I doubt it would've made the ratings get worse. It's more than likely shit advertising and shit scheduling. They have barely advertised the for weeks now while TTG and PPG are advertised up the wazoo.

Please don't let SU be Screwed by the Network.

But I liked Rocknaldo. I thought it was very friendly and constructive. Also, it was hilarious seeing Steven fall for Ronaldo's arguments and only realize a while later that they were bunk "Hey waaait a minute...!"

Personally, I took the criticism to heart: I myself tend to make groups be about me, immediately seek leadership positions despite being a newcomer, then neglect those responsibilities when they don't give me the immediate gratification I look for. I also enjoy yelling at people, bossing them around, and scolding them when they mess up.

I'm making progress in growing out of that shit, though. It was interesting to see those tendencies reflected and exaggerated in a fictional character.

[up][up] Rocknaldo's ratings were just kind of average. Tiger Philanthropist's were way worse than Rocknaldo's, though.

SU is one of the few shows other than AT that has that kind of boom and bust schedule though. Either it tends to give us huge events in a string of episodes, or trickle out episodes for 3 to 5 weeks then go on a roughly 2-4 month hiatus.
