The thing is she seemed to be very hesitant to say who she actually worked for. There's no reason for that kind of hesitation if she worked for Rose, or some Gem Steven doesn't know about.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Some other Gem wouldn't know about would include WD...
Names be important, no assumptions in fiction's house.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Damn, my post got eaten.
I'm expecting that we'll get some more exploration of who Pink Diamond was, to Earth, to the Crystal Gems, and to her close companions. This show has always been very good about humanizing even the corrupted Gems, in terms of the antagonists having understandable motives and thoughts, and Steven is a very empathetic and gentle boy. Hell, he's literally crying Blue Diamond's tears over the loss of Pink.
I think we're in store for a big episode on the founding of the Crystal Gems and what happened during the Gem War sometime soon.
Also, can't wait for the new episode. Looks like a bloodstone, people think?
It's been fun. She's pretty really short...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. If it is important, but turns out to Pearl worked for some character never even hinted at, then the whole topic becomes a Clueless Mystery.
Could it be a character hinted at later than now, but before The Reveal? Yes. But, in the meantime, what's the point of discussing that possibility? Speculation is about forming plausible assumptions and considering the implications if they were true.
By default: They'd have to be arguing considering the concept of the episode...
Or just arguing about that rock in his hand.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It works...
Nothing shabby about this...
They said it'll be in the new episode...so it's like, what even ever.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Because friendship requires a much lower level of intimacy. Do you seriously believe that you'd be happy with a romantic relationship with literally anyone you are capable of being friends with?
Anyway, the new teaser is certainly interesting.
@47005 Oh, I totally get that. Shattering is, not to put too fine a point on it, killing someone. And the specific method I described is a blind-sided cold-blooded murder, even worse because I described it in the context of an attempt to redeem an antagonist. "Shattering" is couching the whole process in a relatively safe euphemism that somewhat divorces our minds to what is actually happening in the scenario described.
Your reaction to my post was pretty much what I would have hoped - "Holy shit, you'd go there?" My theoretical outline is definitely meant to go to a very dark place.
Tangentially, I've been obsessed with the details of Pink Diamond's shattering ever since I saw "Back To The Moon." Mostly, I've always wondered if "shatter" was used as a generic equivalent of "kill," or if gems specifically use it in the context of "murder." To some extent, I imagine a Homeworld gem would see it as somewhat academic at best - killing a Diamond, regardless of context, would seem like murder to them. But I think it matters a lot if Rose Quartz did the deed as the climax to a dramatic battle or if she basically assassinated Pink Diamond. I wonder, as well, if that question will ever be answered (I suppose Eyeball could, but I'm not so sure she'd even be willing to).
@47007 and others: Eh, I think the Diamonds are more of a sibling dynamic, with Pink Diamond having been the "baby" of the family. Seeing YD and BD as two sisters who lost their youngest sister makes a ton of sense.
@47024 I have to agree with @47025 on this one - being a slave is something Pearl clearly doesn't enjoy remembering or thinking about, regardless of who she was attached to. And while I'm hoping none of us have first-hand experience with that kind of thing, I think it's pretty logical to feel that way - if I were once a slave but now free, I would much rather dwell on my freedom (and perhaps as well on my liberator... oh, hello, Rose!). There are parts of many people's past that they don't like to dwell on because of the suffering that they underwent - I think Pearl's servitude falls under that category.
@47032 Yellow Pearl looks like she's slouching. Also, given that Ronaldo's a bit taller than Steven, I don't think a Pearl would be as towering with him in the shot.
@47039 My kid loves owls, so I end up looking up a ton of owl pictures for her. And now that you mention it... southern white-faced owl. Hold on, now mentally replacing Concept Art Jasper with a southern white-faced owl.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. It's obvious that "shatter", "break" and "crack" are intended to mean killing and fatal injuries by Gem standards. They don't really have a solid concept of not existing, which is why it's so hard for them to comprehend it. Life and death are more fluid concepts for them since they don't grow up or are birthed. They come out as they are, and exist forever, unless they're cracked or broken. That's it.

I'm guessing Pearl didn't belong to any Diamond, but instead a member of Pink's court. IMO people just think that she has to be a Diamond's because she must have been "important" (like the theories that made Rose PD, Lapis BD, ect.), even though that has applied to none of the Crystal Gems yet.
