Awful is what was meant...
Goes against the "feelings" spread out from the episode...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. This episode felt kinda... uneventful. Now it wasn't, but the structure made it feel like it was rushed. The last few minutes with "Rose" are good, but we still spend a bit too much time with Connie (the scene with Priyanka makes that seem particularly pointless); so we don't have enough time with "Rose." Basically, nothing happens for the first few minutes, which is important for a 12 minute episode.

Yeah I'm like "Unless Dr. Maheswharan is relevant to the plot, just move onto the Rose part."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I mean, it obviously did have a point - it was meant to get Steven thinking about Rose, thus kick-starting the plot.
Oh God! Natural light!> This episode felt kinda... uneventful.
I went in expecting earth shattering revelations, flash backs to before the gem war, that sort of thing,so I feel some some disappointment but it explored Steven's feelings towards Rose so the character development is worth it .Plus we actually saw Rose interact with Steven..even if it was a illusory
it makes sense to me however that we really didn't learn anything major, because in the end Steven was'nt talking to Rose,he was talking to himself through the room's simulation and it was only projecting what he knew about her, which is admittedly little.
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverPersonally, I've felt this show has had a problem with plot progression since Season One. I mean, it's the fourth season now and we still know very little about the Gem War, the Diamonds, Lion, and Homeworld. The show has delivered tremendously on character development, but it's starting to feel a bit like one really long epilogue to a much more satisfying and intriguing story.
That said, I really liked this episode. I mean, I could have used more backstory and had some questions answered but...Steven just met his Mom! Well, sort of. This is something that many fans have been waiting for since the show started. And for what it was, I thought it was very satisfying and emotional; even if the happy ending felt a little tacked on.

On another note, while Steven's "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Rose was absolutely heartwrenching, the moment was kind of cheapened when he took it back a few seconds later.
Two episodes ago we just had a 5 episode bomb revealing Blue Diamond, giving exposition on Pink Diamond, and more or less laying out the gameplan for future episodes. It's our own fault for hyping up this episode as anything other than more falling action.
I wish we saw more with Rose and Steven outside of cheap Peanuts gag. Even if it was only Steven's impression of Rose, I'd still much rather see that. The Connie section dragged out way too long, and only really existed to introduce the concept.
I think he basically wanted catharsis for the dissonance in what he had been told about his mom and what he had been learning.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersCN posted this
for Sketch Saturday. As a side note, I think Steven and Finn would be great friends if they ever met.
They have so much in common...they both just met their moms in unconventional ways...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Someone said earlier that the Room is like Rose's desktop,if she has any serious, secrets hidden in there she's got the ultimate password protection,no one but her can access them, there's no secret combination code, you just need to be her or have enough memories of her to get an accurate enough hologram ,so you need someone who knows her really, really well and had been by her side from the beginning
What I'm saying is,Steven and Pearl to enter her room together to unlock anything significant,I think that's how she's set it up

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverThe projection set up by the room wasn't accurate though...
It's only based off the one thing Steven actually knew about Rosey that anyone else didn't tell him.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. She only set up one thing...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I feel the opposite about this episode, the Connie stuff was absolutely necessary, and would've been a lesser episode without it.
The space in between where you can see Steven's gears in his head turning gives him a great moment to breathe.
I continually appreciate that the show gives Steven no easy answers. SO, so many times in other shows there would be more tapes to rely on, more flashbacks, and an actual face-to-face moment by now. Here, that's not the case.
Everything Steven does is through his own efforts, and not his mother's. His healing abilities, his empathy, his kindness, that's not just Rose in a new body.
