I loved how this episode played with the meta perceptions. Like, everything Rose is saying is clearly lifted directly from things others have told us about her and the kinds of things she said, but they also kind of sound like the kinds of things she actually would say, given what we know about her, and what we know about her is pretty much only also what Steven knows about her, which is why she was exclusively saying those kinds of things.
Steven shouldn't really have that parental problem of "what kids do with parents"...he still has Gregory.
So that was confusing...
Also Rosey seemed noticeably bigger...like gee wow.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. No, the relative size thing wasn't in effect here...she was actually drawn bigger.
In certain scenes at least. She looked thicker is what I mean.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Good episode. Kinda wish more happened (this has to be the 8th time Steven learned to be happy with his current family instead of pining for his mom) and we saw some of Rose's history, but I still liked it. Season 4 has been a mixed bag thus far.
Nice to see Bismuth got name dropped though (now let her out for gods sake).
Why would the camera not lie? That's like expecting a camera to see through a latex mask because that's not someone's "real" face.

It's an inconsistency necessary to invoke the truth of the situation...
So it's nothing worth nitpicking about too much.
It makes more sense then temporary idiocy of Steven trying to bring the fake Rosey out of the room.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The room can pull memories and expectations out of people's heads.
All this tells us that the actual physical aspect of the room is invisible force in a black void. Anything you see in the room is being projected directly into your brain.
The fluffy cloud environment is Rose's default wallpaper, I guess. Or a screensaver.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI don't think that this is indicative of quality one way or another, so yeah, I think it's probably you.
Oh God! Natural light! For a while, I've made observations about Rose similar to the ones Steven brought up—about all the problems she left behind, including the other gems' emotional issues—but came to a pretty opposite conclusion (or similar conclusions viewed very differently):
Steven was wondering if Rose just didn't want to face her problems, and reincarnating as Steven was an ultimate coward's way out.
I thought Rose, after thousands of years of interpersonal stagnation, concluded she couldn't solve these problems. That, even without banking on Steven being able to succeeded where she failed, Rose figured her absence wouldn't be impossible to recover from because she thought she wasn't helping that much anymore.

The truth is that he found out that his absentee parent isn't as awful as everyone made her seem.
But it wasn't a big deal.

Connie has been in the Room before, so Steven's not the only one who can see it, but yeah, it's basically a virtual reality simulator that you can just walk in and experience without any equipment.
