That's not what I'd call a permanent solution. I think they should give the non-Eyeball Rubies a chance. Other than her the rest of them are kind of reasonable.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Usually the show avoids frontal angles of Pearl's face because that makes her nose look weird. Sometimes there are other problems.

Okay, finally can talk about it all here. Woo!
I'm also in the "not terribly impressed with YD's song" camp. It's good (if not spectacular) lyrically, but the melody left me wanting. I feel like we're going to have a good BD number down the line.
As for BD getting redeemed... well, I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility, but I also wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility that she'll be confronted with her crimes and decide Then Let Me Be Evil instead. Regardless, she has a lot to potentially answer for, and I really want to see that brought up and what the answer will be. Lots of room to go with her.
The one thing I've been wondering about are the quartzes in general. They're made to be warriors, right? Well, why were they making a warrior caste prior to the rebellion (after all, the rebellion was started by one of those warriors)? Just as a for instance, there's nothing completely derived from the natural resources of Earth that would even threaten a Peridot; what's out there that requires an army?
I'm also all about the Famethyst. Slightly related, I'm not sure if throwing a curveball and reintroducing Malachite as a fusion of Lapis and Skinny Jasper would be punking the Jasper/Lapis shippers or throwing them a bone. But Skinny Jasper looks like she'd be lots of fun.
Also, I'm assuming that there's only the one Carnelian there at the moment - note how the Amethysts were referred to by cut and (beyond the fact that multiple were shown) they had to specify which Jasper they meant by calling her Skinny. But Carnelian was just referred to by that - I think it lends credence to the idea that we've now met the Carnelian that Peri referenced in "Beta."
Finally, one thing I appreciate in retrospect - in "Adventures in Light Distortion," things got uber-cramped for the Crystal Gems when Steven set the internal physics to a picture of three diamonds. Which, among other things, has me wondering if they could figure out a way to weaponize that in the future - I know Alexandrite is cool and all, but it might be easier to face the Diamonds without the huge energy expenditure.
EDIT: Also, I have a very strong feeling that Agates in general (or, at the very least, Holly Blue Agate) derive most of their actual authority and power from being the middle managers for the Diamonds. They're not the higher-ups - Holly Blue was shocked to get a visit from BD, let alone two or to see YD as well. And since Holly Blue didn't ever have anyone to gainsay her, I doubt she's at all effective in combat (which would explain why she was on the receiving end of a Curb-Stomp Battle finished with Cherry Tapping). Meanwhile, the Crystal Gems have been regularly dealing with corrupted gems for millennia, honing the battle skills they developed during the rebellion, and they obviously aren't concerned that the Diamonds are going to hate them any worse than they already would. The only thing keeping the Famethyst from just running roughshod over Holly Blue is probably the fear of Blue Diamond taking matters into her own hands if they tried (okay, also maybe the fact that they also might be rusty on combat as well, but they'd have numbers on their side). Holly Blue strikes me as a Smug Snake and a subversion of Authority Equals Asskicking.

Could be their way of using up resources, the gem empire is heavily militaristic,so having the resources to make more warrior gems and not use them would be seen a waste of the planet's resources, their logic is probably:"We went to the trouble of finding the planet so we might as well use it" Unfortunately this probably results in a planet being completely depleted of resources, they then move on to the next next world, and the next. All the while building this huge army they probably don't have any use for.
Its incredibly wasteful to produce warriors you don't need, but then gems don't need to worry about things like upkeep of their troops so they can afford to produce lots of soldiers, even during the peace times.

have a listen and have a link to my discord server@46407 I'm presuming, though, that Homeworld could have used those resources for other types of gems if they didn't make any members of the warrior caste (even if you do need specific resources for specific gems, though, it's telling that the two Earth kindergartens were in places where they churned out quartzes even before the rebellion, as opposed to something like Peridots or Lapises).
Yes, there is logic in producing soldiers even if you're not at war readiness. That said, given how powerful and durable gems are (look at how much abuse Pearl can take, and she was very much not built for frontline duty, no matter how much she tried to prove otherwise to Rose), it strikes me as moot if you're only dealing with things that wouldn't be a threat anyway.
So I guess the implication is that there existed an existential threat to Homeworld (or at the very least, gems in general) even before Rose Quartz's rebellion. What was it that prompted Homeworld to produce soldiers in the first place?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I suppose a possible alternative is that there are inter-Diamond court proxy fights that decide things.
Like how in Advance Wars you just send real people to die to settle dumb things between the commanders.
If this was a thing, it probably isn't anymore due to resource shortages.
Also, it just occurred to me that Blue Diamond's reveal explains a thing. No wonder Lapis was mistreated by Jasper and Peridot even though she was from a different court. Blue Diamond is too depressed to be protecting her people.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat's not feeling blue at all...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Colin Howard has been posting various drawing, including an early board for "Mindful Education" showing Jeff after his injuries
.
The final version was toned down for obvious reasons.

The "obvious reasons" being: that type of injury would've just been overkill.
But the way she attacked was probably also different.

I don't think anything she did in the final version was enough to warrant expulsion, barring a zero tolerance policy. Yeah, it was an act of violence, but not an entirely intentional one, Connie apologized of her own volition, and the kid who was attacked held no hard feelings. Detention easily. Suspension I'd buy. But not expulsion. Not when the single worst thing Connie did besides the injury itself was run away in horror. Also I'd bet it was the first time she got in trouble for anything, which could buy her some leniency.
