Missed the last two episodes live, luckily caught them on DVR.
The human zoo episode was nice, and the Zoomans were so adorable! It really shows how people will act when their little world is all they know. I honestly thought it would go the way of The Island, and "The Choosening" would be them being brought to the main station to be dissected or forced to fight to the death something.
But "That Will Be All" was by far the best episode of the block. YD's song was great. Her voice had some real weight to it, and it actually humanized her and Blue (ironically). But really, I'm just glad we got some development on the Diamonds, and the Gems in general. It may sound like I'm moving the goalposts, but now I'm really curious as to the status of White Diamond, and why there's been not so much as a mention of her. White is still part of the new DA emblem, so is what she does completely removed from the others, or do the writers simply not know what do with her?
Looking at the next episode The New Crystal Gems It seems like it'll be a combination of A Day in the Limelight and a Lower-Deck Episode, which will be nice. Will it be the first episode not from Steven's perspective, or do you think they'll find some way for Steven to be seeing it?

Unless introducing the character is what they don't know how to do yet.

That's what I think is the case. The showrunners are not quite sure yet how White Diamond figures into the plot, or what they want the Crystal Gems and the Diamonds to think of her. So as of now, it's like she doesn't exist.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawCan we talk about the Diamond's plans for the future? You know, where Blue was all like, "The window for preserving Earth specimens is closing," and then Yellow was all like "there's still time." I predict this season's finale will be one, or possibly both of them, arriving on Earth and kidnapping a bunch of humans for the zoo.
The Diamondo get defeated while they try to get more humans...
The steal the humans everyone else doesn't care about...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So the last two episodes aired. Thoughts:
- F-3 (at the Choosening) looks like Bembo.
- Not a fan of this song, but I guess they can't all be winners.
- Oh look, Garnet fuses and wins a fight at the end of a very dramatic episode. Where have I seen that before?
- I like how Yellow Diamond's armship has a clenched fist, and Blue's is open. Really captures their personalities.
It took until episode 74 to see Blue Diamond stylized in a flashback.
It took until 77 to see Yellow Diamond.
It took until 101 to finally confirm that Pink Diamond existed and wasn't Rose Quartz. And also implied and then explicitly confirmed next episode that Rose shattered her.
It took until 114 to see Blue Diamond in person.
Patience.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersAs far as the speculation goes regarding Blue Diamond pulling a Heel–Face Turn, I don't think it's impossible, at least to the point of an Enemy Mine, since she clearly would spare the Earth if it was up to her (and she'd probably jump at Peridot's suggestion about making use of the Earth's resources in a manner that doesn't obliterate to biosphere), but there's going to be a great many hurdles that would need to be overcome. First and foremost being coming to understand that Steven and Rose Quartz aren't the same being, and then on the Crystal Gems' side, Garnet being willing to move past the fact that Blue Diamond ordered half of her shattered.
Plus taking part in the Corruption bomb/song. Until she can apologize to Centipeedle and her crew for what she's done, I don't think she can be forgiven so easily. A lot of Tumblr posts went so far to suggest Garnet was exaggerating or evne outright lying about Ruby's threat of shattering. And yet, as soon as she got wind that she didn't order a Sapphire to go to Earth, her weepy state was gone and she was serious again.
yes she's a grieving sister, but she's still a Diamond, responsible for the Homeworld empire. And even for all of Pink's traits we're learning about, she still would've left Earth a baren colony devoid of life.
Still, until we see that flashback of Pink and Rose interacting, significantly the two most mysterious characters in the series behind White Diamond, we can't say for sure.

BD COULD realize her error on having demanded Ruby be shattered, if she realized how much they care for one another. If she understands that if she tried to take away Ruby, that'd be like how Pink Diamond was taken away from her.

The way the Rubies talked about Jasper in "Back to the Moon" it seemed like Jasper was a minor celebrity and/or a war hero. I don't think she was given a crap job like the Earth Amethysts and the other assorted Beta gems. Yellow Diamond chose this Jasper to check on the Cluster because she had faith in her abilities.
