Hello, 911, I would like to report a murder? Yes...it was white bird in a dress. Hello?

Those other Amethysts and Japsers were total ladybros!

And HA! Holly got frickin' PWNED.

Nice use of Ambiguous Syntax on Yellow Diamond's song. My closed captions picked it up as "What's the use in feeling, Blue?"

You know, I just realized... Pearl kind of gave away their real plan needlessly. Holly Blue just thought Amethyst was messing around with some humans, she still had no idea they were Crystal Gems.

One takeaway I had from the song: Whatever else you might say about the Diamonds, they seem to hold themselves to the requirements of the Gem caste system. They exist to lead just as other gems exist for their tasks.

I also wonder if we'll see a happier Amethyst going forward. There's nothing in the universe quite like knowing you're not alone in it. Now she has the Famethyst.

[up][down] Plus getting told off by a Pearl has got to rank high on the humiliation scale for someone like Holly Blue Agate

[up][up] Based on her reaction ("What are you doing? They're traitors; destroy them!"), I assumed the jig was up as soon as Garnet entered the picture.

Another fun takeaway is that Lapis are terraformers. Which explains exactly why Lapis is so much stronger than any other gem we've seen.

It's the water...excessive amounts, not her actual strength. She's at an advantage.

[up] I think it's more that she's literally designed to work with the resources of non-Gem planets

Huh great episode. Surprisingly humanizes the Diamonds. Sure their not exactly very good people but there's some level of decency there & you can actually feel some sympathy/pity for them.

It also makes Yellow's hatred of Earth very sensible. Its the planet where her younger sister whom she loved dearly with all her diamond core was brutally murdered, of course she would want that world to die.

You think that aside from the whole "Rose shattering Pink" issue, Blue Diamond could possibly come around and upgrade from sympathizing with Greg to understanding the Crystal Gems' actions and not be actively against them?

Not very likely

Forgiving someone who murdered a loved one,and possibly others is not something you see very often

Well it turns out I missed the beginning of the episode and only turned in to the last 5 minutes, but it appears that this arc is over, which means what little else they had of Blue Diamond was totally what I missed. I also missed a musical number. -_-

Amethyst bonding with the Quartz guards is one of my favorite bits from this latest batch of episodes. And is that Carnelian the one that Peridot mentioned when they went to the Beta Kindergarten?

Another fun takeaway is that Lapis are terraformers. Which explains exactly why Lapis is so much stronger than any other gem we've seen.

Also explains why she took to farming so quick.

Yeah no way in hell is Blue gonna forgive the Gems. They murdered her sister, sure the reasons were justified but try telling that to her face "Oh we had to shatter your sister for the freedom and liberation of a bunch of fleshies who prolly couldn't even talk at the time & their leafy world." Yeah that won't fly for her.

It be even worse if Blue founds out that Ruby & Sapphire are the same exact Ruby & Sapphire who formed Garnet. She's gonna go straight from depression to full frothing tearful rage.

Good bomb, but I admit it wasn't quite as exciting as I had hoped. Given the way everyone who watched the leaks hyped it, I was hoping for a revelation about the Crystal Gems or the war on the level of Bismuth's episode, or direct interaction between the Diamonds and the Crystal Gems (Although admittedly, that probably can't happen too soon for the sake of the plot).

But still, it was hardly insignificant. We got some nice insight on the Diamonds, a new Gem, and our first real look at modern Gem culture.

Still think it would've worked better as a TV movie, though.

Breaking into that facility and freeing Greg was WAY too easy. It sucked some of the intensity out of the marathon.

Finally! I've been waiting for this episode to air so I could talk about Amethyst and her sisters. That is literally my favourite Amethyst scene in the entire series. I was so happy to see her bond with her family. This is why I hope the Gems come back to liberate this outpost. Just to see more of Amethyst and her family. They'd fit right in on Earth. Oh, and how many of you caught the callbacks to Beta? Here and here.

I think that Blue Diamond may be redeemable. After having lost her sister she now knows what it "really" means to have someone shattered and is going to think twice about it. The fact that she kept all the Rose Quartz's around all this time suggests that her view on shattering has changed since she threatened Ruby with it. Yellow Diamond is still a jerk though.

So, who will appear first? Pink Diamond, (in a flashback obviously,) or White Diamond?

Home-world is pretty lax somehow. Do they ever encountered threats that require military force?

I think they could have become complacent.

From what Holly Blue said the Zoo is more or less abandoned. Only Blue Diamond pays attention to it and even then barely.

It's like they just put all of PD's stuff in the attic corner and left it there.

Oh really when?

It also puts into context why Jasper was so desperate to get back to Earth. She was very likely stationed there with the Amethysts, seeing reminders of Pink's pathetic remnants of her legacy, reminded every day that she's been comparatively exiled to Antarctica with a bunch of defective Quartzes and weak humans. It might be where the "I know what a human is, you don't need me for this" came from. I mean, it's possible she's talking about the last time she was on Earth, but it'd mean more if she's seen humans for years and years and years.

That wouldn't make any sense...YD wouldn't send just any Jasper gem, so not all of them could be at the zoo.

Especially "The Jasper"...
