Rewatched: Pearly said that it wasn't accessible by warp pad...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I honestly assumed that there are Translator Microbes in the earrings. Among other things, this makes Holly Blue's "what are they saying" attitude in "Gen Heist" even more ludicrously pompous.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Gems speak English. Word of God confirms that. So the Zoomans speak English by virtue of the voice they hear every single day of their lives.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.BD literally only said that Earth was the place PD died...Gregory learned nothing.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Cartoon logic..at that point it doesn't matter.
They could be speaking German...hammond and it'd still give the same feeling.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The Voice isn't Pink's, that's also Cristina Vee, you can hear the Nu-13 there, just not so yandere.
They still creep me out, the way they move, speak, and refer to things like doors as legends and the best they can grasp the concept is a wall you can move. Also they don't know what being hurt is, and when they start freaking out it borders on Uncanny Valley.
They seem pretty happy though. The chilling thing is even after the Cluster would've gone off, humanity would survive, as a pampered remnant incapable of complex interaction, trapped like that forever. I can really buy if Pink ever took Rose Quartz there she would've wanted to rebel, or at least knew of her plans.
There'll be a lot to talk about with tomorrow's last episode.
These humans can barely make a splash bigger than a coin dropping into a body of water...
Thas weak.

I personally assumed that Pearl could make the hologram move its lips however she imagined, regardless of whether she was directly quoting Rose Quartz or just paraphrasing. In terms of things related to language in the show, that's not even on the radar.
For the zoomans somehow speaking more or less modern English... that wouldn't make sense at all on its own. I mean, just look at British English and American English are, and that's just over a period of 200 years with somewhat regular contact between the two. Translator Microbes processing through the gems themselves or the earrings being worn by the zoomans is a Hand Wave, sure, but in a series with as many fantastic inherent powers in the protagonists, it's enough of an explanation for a side point that isn't all that important.
Besides, if language translation/comprehension is a minor side effect of having a gem, it also neatly saves us from figuring out that whole "Esteban Universidad" business - I don't think Spanish was high on the list of things Pearl was going to bother teaching Steven, and Greg doesn't strike me as the linguist type.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Spanish is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the US. Even if Steven didn't have a canonically Latino friend (Lars) knowing enough Spanish to make up a Spanish sounding name is totally plausible.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. But seriously, this is still far above average for new episodes of any other show.
Trying to figure out what ethnicity Lars is is... weird.
I'll explain the captivity thing a bit more tomorrow. Keep in mind why they're even bothering keeping humans alive.
Also for the Gems to make organic food you can eat, interact with humans, give them a fully livable environment, and keep a stable population for 5000 years is nothing short of a scientific miracle.
According to more Word of God Lars is not white, so I believe that pretty much confirms he's Fillipino.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Eh. I'm not sure if we have further Word of God on this one. Point taken.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Eventually, I figured the same was true in the series, and his skin and hair being orange is just a minor artistic license, like how Onion's skin is yellow.
After seeing his parents, I still think the orange is just an embellishment, but that he's also mixed-race. His mom seems to be white (and has hair that's similarly color, but not so bright as to seem impossible) while his father is similarly ambiguous.

There's one on the moon too remember? They said they needed Earth's Galaxy pad to get to it, but it was busted so they had to use Lion instead.
