Gem Heist was one of the funniest SU episodes I've seen
. I love that Amethysts are in a way the fun versions of Jaspers. I like Steven and Greg's new look. The braid works well for Greg. So far Pink Diamond's zoo looks better than the Collector's Collection and much better than Earth's human zoos.
No, actually that doesn't make any sense at all.
Them only meeting death via violence shouldn't cause them to snuff out ways they can die.
They're the invaders, but we don't know where they come from...or why they started invading.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So this paradise is devised by the gems so the humans dont' feel imprisoned.... and apparently they also erase your memory because these two people don't remember what doors are, and they don't use contractions. ... Also they all smile with cat mouths.
Cristina Vee voices the lady.

It was quite interesting to see the kind of culture humans developed in Gem captivity. I'll admit that I'm a little disappointed that we're only getting to see Blue Diamond at the beginning and end of the arc. This is a problem I've had with manga. Sometimes I'm so eager to see certain characters or events that it becomes hard to enjoy individual chapters and/or episodes.
x5 That's like a completely wrong explanation of the things in the episode.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Honestly, I can easily see how the Zoomans got the way they got. The first humans, from 5 millenia ago, probably thought they'd been taken to heaven.
Granted, I can imagine a few accidental deaths before the current system went into play, but even then, the problem of 'where the hell do we go if we escape' probably quashed any kind of rebellion.
Yeah, the first time I heard Cristina Vee's characters here it was a little distracting, just because some voice actors have very distinctive tones you can recognize from anywhere. Also Jay-10's look is cute.
Also also, it's a good thing the art style isn't hyperdetailed, because the Zoomans wouldn't be allowed on a kids show otherwise. I mean, look at them.
I also like that Greg gets an Even the Guys Want Him response.
Greg specifically says something about "that Zooman sleep schedule" at one point, so it is used in-universe.
As for what things would have been like for early human captives... I mean, geez. If we're talking about humans from 5000 years ago, we're talking about early Bronze Age civilizations. Stuff like the Minoans, Sumeria, the first Egyptian dynasty, and the like. That era of history is still such a question mark (for example, we still don't know what the Minoan language was, and we can't translate its writing system, usually called Linear A, to this day). Or, to put it another way - this predates pretty much every known precursor to any Chinese dynasty (which, depending on sources and estimates, only goes back to around 2850 BCE).
So basically, zoomans would have basically missed out on all of human civilization as we know it. Talk about the potential for a clean slate.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Okay guys, this episode has lended evidence to my theory that gems in some small way have manipulated human civilisation.
Consider this; the zoomans and Greg speak the same language. Even though the Zoomans haven't interacted with each culture for FIVE THOUSAND YEARS. Also the five thousand year old voice recordings inside the ear rings (Pink Diamond's voice?) is ALSO the same language.
I seriously think everyone on Earth (or at least, every American) speaks the Gem vocal language. (Perhaps we all learnt it from Rose and such) I'm struggling to think of a moment where characters have encountered a language barrier outside of Steven not being able to read written gem language.
Well, Steven Universe is a detail-oriented series, but it's never been above taking artistic license with a few things. Like how fast Lapis was able to get back to Homeworld.
It couldn't have taken her that long to fly to the Galaxy warp pad on the moon.
Actually I'm not sure how her wings work exactly. I assume they're magic and work in space, otherwise, how would she have escaped the atmosphere? Anyway, if Her wings work in space, she should be able to fly mad fast to the moon.

The Galaxy Warp is on Earth...

> It must be weird for gems knowing that they can only die in violence.
Wouldn't that explain their obsession with warfare? The mere fact that they know they are vulnerable to violence means they are more afraid of death then anyone else, and since they can't die naturally they are constantly looking for a threat to their existence.
