It wouldn't be anymore horrifying...the end result of such a technique is why it requires precision to use...
And it would just end up being...who can control a body better.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Lapis discovering the ability to manipulate blood sounds like an idea that would be rife for Dark Fic. I very highly doubt that it will come up in-series though, unless she winds up using it for some sort of medical purpose.
The only thing it can be used for related to that is to restrain people...otherwise it's only useful for the darkness.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I dunno, given how much sheer brute force Lapis' hydrokinesis has, I could see her using "Bloodbending" to make people pop like balloons rather than just puppeteer them.
Then again, she doesn't actually need to control people's blood to pull off that stunt if she could instead just use more water (and pressure). Lapis is kinda scary, yo.
She is. Even for a gem, she's terrifyingly powerful. In her debut episode(s), she completely stomped the Crystal Gems and she only stopped because Steven was able to talk her down.
It makes you wonder how Jasper and Peridot were able to capture her, or how Bismuth managed to get the drop on her all those years ago.
No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!Because gems don't have blood, and from what we've seen of gem colonization, it's doubtful theres much water on homeworld. Lapis is strong on earth, but near useless if she doesn't have water.
Also, Lapis wasn't captured by Jasper and Peridot. She was sent as an informant to give them info on the crystal gems.
That and after the ship crashed, she did try to escape, but Jasper grabbed her so fast there really wasn't time to use water. And Jasper's words did get to her where it hurts and the prospect of getting revenge on her captor and hitting the Despair Event Horizon had their tole.
Jasper really should've chosen her words better. "These Gems, they're traitors to their Homeworld. They kept you prisoner. They used you. This is your chance to take revenge! Come on, just say yes." That's definitely a Rewatch Bonus now.
What the heck would that accomplish...

I've never been entirely clear if it was lifespan or current stamina. Regardless it'd never work for Lapis for the same reasons that would impede bloodbending to begin with.
To me, the idea of Lapis having bloodbending is interesting but carries one significant obstacle: excluding the three who raised Steven, how many Gems even have a concept of blood. As I think was already mentioned, Gems don't have a circulatory system or, if they do, it's not like ours and certainly isn't in their Gem bodies.
Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl probably know what a circulatory system is just because they've probably had to help a few of Steven's injuries over time, whether childhood boo-boos or injuries from missions. Lapis and Peridot have frequently been shown to be more ignorant of Earth's ways and creatures than the Crystal Gems have, so bloodbending would be an uphill battle.
Any organic lifeform would already be hopeless in a fight against Lapis. I can only imagine her controlling their blood if she was doing them a favor—like if she wanted to stop them from bleeding.
Wait a minute. What are Lapis's wings made of? Can she control water made of Hard Light and not just regular water?
Huh. I guess that would depend on if Lapis' hydrokinesis also included, um, "hydroscience?" As in "liquid sensing," not "hydro-science." Though, if she does have that kind of sense, then I wonder if interacting with Earth's biological life isn't, on some level, very strange for her. Imagine if some bag of water started talking at you? (Then again, I guess you could say the same thing about a rock [suspended in a humanoid field of solid, massed light] talking to you, so, yeah.)
Lapis can definitely sense things through water, at least when she's controlling it—she saw and conversed with the Crystal Gems when they were at the base or her water tower, miles below her.
Jesus, Lapis is probably never going to live up to her introduction power-wise.

Lapis is OP plz nerf
Edit:Lapis is probably of those characters who could quickly solve every problem with her waterbending and that would get boring fast,so writers focus less on her powers and more on her overall character

That's probably less from what she can do and more what she wants to do. As far as I've seen, she wants nothing to do with the Crystal Gems' activities. Where Peridot finds purpose in being part of that, Lapis is happier keeping the hell away unless required to act (such as fighting off or subduing the Rubies).
It certainly helps that she's rather disinterested in the conflicts the other gems get into.
Oh God! Natural light!Yeah, certainly if she's controlling it, but like... I wonder if she has to actively "ping" for the presence of water. This all certainly doesn't matter in the least, no.
In any case, as for her matching the "steal the ocean and make an orbital tower with it" stunt, well... Maybe if she has to kill a Homeworld-equivalent of a Star Destroyer with an ocean-lance at some point.
(Or maybe a more defensive application. If Homeworld's interstellar/planetary weaponry involves, say, light manipulation, an oceanic bubble could provide a solid distortion bulwark and heat-sink. Sure, that would be utterly ecologically destructive, but not really any more so than, the, well, "steal the ocean" stunt again.
)
If she throws the ocean at a spaceship, how are we going to get it back?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI was talking more in the event of an invasion she couldn't ignore (she lives on Earth, too, now).
Of course, I keep forgetting Homeworld also has Lapis Lazuli (Lazulis?), so her water-power isn't necessarily a be-all-end-all.

And it could be potentially be a LOT more horrifying considering that she makes even the strongest Waterbenders look like amateurs.
