I don't think Rose really knew anything that would happen. She's the kind of person who just does things because she feels like it.
And I don't really think it's all that complicated for her to guess what a half human half gem would be like either. It's not really hard for her to imagine that a half gem human would be a human with a gem in them. When she started the process, nature likely figured out how to make it happen for her.

Yeah, but we're talking about Rose. She doesn't just adore humans she adores nature too. It's in character for her to just put faith in something like that.
Plus while they do have gay characters in the show, it's still a kid's show. I doubt they're going to go into detail about how Rose and Greg had Steven reproduced. It makes more sense to just have Steven's birth be some kind of amazing miracle of nature that happened and leave it at that.

The most I saw was someone complaining that it felt like Pearl took several steps back in development, to which I was like.... you realize this is a flashback, right? Do you know what a flashback is? Why wouldn't she be several steps back in development? Like, I'm not the biggest Pearl fan, but I still have issues with that reasoning.
When we're done, there won't be anything left. Here's something for you to think about: Jasper learning about Greg.
Tis too late for anything to come of that...even after she gets unbubbled.
Unless she remains villainous...but that'd be wishful thinking...and possibly contrived.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. He'll be even more Rose Quartz in the future...
She doesn't understand the specifics, just the effects.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I imagine her misunderstanding and thinking Greg is some kind of super strong warrior or tactical genius.
Jasper: So Rose is gone... sealed inside this... human... and it's because of you?" *points at Greg*
Greg: "Well.... kind of? Technically...."
Jasper leans into Greg's ear*
Jasper (whispering): "How'd you do it?"
Greg backs away annoyed and bewildered*
I wonder if of all things Bismuth and Jasper could eventually if not befriend, at least come to respect each other? Heck they very well could've seen each other on the battlefield for all we know.
They have different ideals, but after both being bubbled and presumably having their world views shattered, (pun not intended) they might have more in common with each other than the Crystal Gems at that point.
There's a lot of similarities you could draw in a sense, Jasper is a Might Makes Right kind of warrior who believes since she works for the strongest side, it must therefor be the best one. Values individual feats of strength but only according to class, believes classism is necessary and gives each Gem their purpose, respects Rose in a fashion even after all she'd done for her tactics, and secretly doesn't like herself for what she feels is failure not being able to avenge Pink Diamond.
Bismuth, a strong, resourceful blacksmith who defected from Homeworld and found new potential with her skill at making weapons respected Rose for her ideals but not her tactics, genuinely wants to protect the Earth and definitely to give a place for Gems to live in piece, hates Homeworld's class structure and wants to break the Diamonds and their servants specifically, went too far in her cause, attacked Steven for believing that Steven was his mother just like Jasper, but instead was able to gain a measure of peace from her situation and chose to be bubbled.
[mental image of Jasper and Bismuth sailing together]
About the only they'd agree is their gripes with Rose, there might be some begrudging respect but they are polar opposites as things go,then, again opposites have a habit of attracting each other.

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverWhat if Steven Universe aired in the 90's? You know the greatest era for cartoons evar?
You say that like a crossover between Steven Universe and Ed, Edd, and Eddy wouldn't be the greatest moment in the history of animation.
My various fanfics. We'll have to settle for this lost storyboard
, I guess.

That's not really a 90's show, more early 2000's.

In computer terms, like kind of like taking out a storage drive and putting into a new motherboard. Made of meat.
