I dunno, reimagining her scenes in Alone At Sea with the mirror eyes actually makes it come across as a lot more interesting and grim. I think that so long as they still used other facial expressions, or utilized parts of her eyes aside from the pupils (such as her brows), you could still get across all those same emotions, but make it even more interesting.
She doesn't need pupils...they aren't adding to her expressiveness in particular. Where she's looking isn't too important.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I mean, I think they could get it to work if they really wanted to, and it would be interesting.
At the same time, though, I can imagine it might be somewhat difficult, so I can accept that they might have wanted to make it easier on everybody.
Oh God! Natural light!Sorry, if this has already been discussed, does anyone know if Lauren Zuke left SU because of continued fan harassment
It maybe a rumor (I've been out of the SU social space for like a month). We discussed the problem with anti-Lapidot fans attacking her on social media a few months ago. Zuke left Twitter and stopped posting to her show related Tumblr account. She worked on the Gem Harvest, which I heard was too "Lapidot" for some people. Supposedly people found her personal Tumblr account and she ended up closing it. I hope her leaving the show is a rumor.

"Procrastinate now, don’t put it off." Ellen De GeneresI know there are some of those Funko Pop aberrations out there — because of course there are, that brand can and will cover every license in existence — and I belieeeeve there are some actually cute and interesting figurines out there too, but it's quite slim pickings. No sort of action figures or ball-jointed hyperposable dolls or the like.
Yep. And SU is a show with a large female audience, which decreases the likelihood of them selling toys as well.
They don't sell toys of female characters to boys because boys won't buy them because they don't sell them.
They don't sell action figures for shows aimed at girls because girls don't buy them because they don't sell them.
Well, I don't know what your childhoods were like, but my schools were the kind of environments were there was a very sharp divide between boys and girls, and if a boy were to own something even slightly girly or, gods forbid, pink, then they were obviously gay and to be ridiculed. It was so bad that when I was eleven years old, I felt like I needed to hide my habit of watching Sailor Moon out of fear that everyone I knew would disown me.
While I like to believe that things have gotten a bit better in that regard, I don't really think there's been such a revolution that a boy could show of their Pearl action figure during recess.
Why do we not have giant Lion plushes to cuddle with?
With how pink the show is, I imagine plopping this down in the 90s CN action cartoon slot would turn some heads. Nowadays with how experimental CN shows are now compared to before, it's not as noticeable I think.
I didn't watch girl shows all the time, but I did watch Sailor Moon at times and Winx Club after Sonic X on Fox.
I know market research in the 80's claimed that boys wouldn't play with toys seen as "girly" (it's why I never could get an Arcee Transformer toy back in the day)... but is that still true? Or is it one of those things that keeps going because "it's the way it's always been done"?
Also, regarding Lapis apologizing to Peridot... whether or not it's fair that Lapis hasn't, who would the idea have occurred to? Peridot is so focused on being accepted that it seems like she doesn't ask anything out of anyone but "like me." Steven seems to have completely overlooked that Lapis' behavior towards Peridot wasn't completely fair. And Lapis typically doesn't apologize for her errors until after they've been pointed out and she's accepted that the person who she hurt wasn't deserving of that treatment.
I think Lapis would apologize to Peridot at this point if Peri or Steven pointed it out, but I'd guess it hasn't happened yet simply because the latter two haven't.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.

She emotes sometimes!
Like in "Alone at Sea"! That was a pretty emotional episode for her.
