The whole point of fanfic is to be a transformative work. Creating an AU where Jasper and Lapis met under different circumstances, or where they became better people and tried again.
To give an example without using them, making a fic where Steven betrayed the gems to homeworld. It's something he would never do in a million years, but the point of that fic would be to explore under what circumstances he would do such a thing.
Other than Original Flavor expansion and continuation fics, anyway.
Oh I got no issue with fanfiction personally, I just hate when people ironically go into Draco in Leather Pants territory.
I will be blunt here: the issue is Jasper is important chararter who will be part of the cast, while Kevin(and Martin for that part) are just one-note who already did their job to be awfull people.
And more important, Jasper is evil but they are UNPLEASENT, this is waaaaaay different for some fans, but right now Kevin may be a creepy douche but Jasper so far have endenger other, maintain a toxic viewpoint based on force, engage in a toxic relationship(Sure, Lapis was abusive but she manage to see it and more important, Jasper wanted to go back to that) and her comment to Amathyst could fall as Ablaist depending on how you see it
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"In general while it's fine to have your likes and dislikes and private disapproval of fics I don't like the idea that people should be discouraged from writing them by fandom Moral Guardians, lest you have people sending fic authors hatemail and threatening to dox them to the FBI for pedophilia because they ship 29yo Han with 19yo Luke and the like.
Isn't what you're talking about exactly what led to Lauren Zuke deleting her Twitter? Fanfic purists who became so obsessed with their One True Pairing of Amedot that they rejected Lapis and Peridot living together?
If so, I admit that saying fanfic has free reign is fine, so long as the people making it don't take it too seriously.
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawA gem colony under whose's control,Crystal gem or Homeworld?
if it's Homeworld, hell no,there's no way they'd allow them a base to attack them from
If it's a crystal gem colony then it would have difficulty being established at all owing to a lack of resources, without a link to another homeplanet the project would fail, and I doubt Earth is going to help them set up a colony,

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverOkay this is a little weird, but would the Lich from Adventure Time work as a villain in Steven Universe? Or Bill Cipher?

Billy would be OP in this universe.
The Rock Ladies aren't technically alive, so the Lich King's effectiveness is in question.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I meant, would they based on the type of characters they are (and what light they're shown in) would work in SU?
And yeah, Bill would even crush Homeworld like ants 'cause you know, reality warping.

The issue with Bill and Lich King is that they're Magic Lore Villains, in that they are created by and can only be defeated by things created in their respective universes. Ergo, it doesn't matter how much raw force you can throw at them, unless you can break through dimensional barriers or have an infeasible amount of overwhelming magical-based force you aren't doing shit to them.
There's also the fact that the Lich and Bill are each a Complete Monster.

Yeah, people just ship the two instead, which is it's own bag of worms. Hypocritical Fandom is very much a thing here, I won't deny that.
That too. Kevin is literally a one-note character.
