So according to my research what little I can find Demayo is a Jewish name, via Spain and Portugal.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I think that's what sounded out of place. Openly agknowledging a political situation outside of Beach City seems very... disorienting. Makes me wonder what sorts of wild and wacky political shitshows would happen in a world that, from we can tell, is areligious and has no issues with homophobia or racism. Seems it really soil the fun of it all.

Didn't Greg say that he inherited the barn?
If that's the case, Andy didn't have the power to evict the Gems anyway.
And while he's entitled to his feelings regarding a cherished family location being changed, he also hasn't visited in years. Didn't even know Greg was in the area.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI feel like pointing out that, like "Bismuth", this episode was probably written so it could be set most anywhere this season. It was probably aired now as a Thanksgiving Episode.
I don't know about anywhere - we have no clue what else will happen this season.
Oh God! Natural light!Wasn't really anything in the episode deserving of one.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. How would that keep them from putting it after this episode?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Spiraling in to give some thoughts on this episode: I'm not sure if I liked it. It had a lot of potential to be good and I like the character of Andy, but some really weird bits held it back.
I guess the first one would be how, if I had to describe it, some bits were "blatant." I'm not sure if I like SU being topical in such an obvious way. Like, there's more subtle ways to tackle a topic of tha sort and they're more than capable of doing it.* The result here just sort of feels forced into the episode, and it doesn't strike me as something natural... maybe I'm just being weird though, ah?
Some of the Gem stuff felt weird, like they were just jamming in token references to things they did for the heck of it. It didn't really strike me as natural conversation... though, they're from space, so what do I know. I'm also a little annoyed at how little anyone tried to offer apologies towards Andy for things like dismantling a plane with a lot of sentimental value to him and such, but... again, Gems. They don't really pick up on social cues too well.
I like Andy as a character, I do admit. I didn't like him until near the end of the episode, since I wasn't even sure why they were introducing him, but I like him now since he has potential as an avenue for developing Steven's identity as a human/Gem hybrid. The two seem like they'll round out each other well, and I hope they'll both get some nice heartfelt moments whenever the next time they're together again happens.
For what it's worth, the dog's a minute enough element that I don't think anyone would notice if it didn't show up again. ...if anything, I'd be more concerned with the season changing causing some anachronism.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So I think the next episode, Three Gems and a Baby, is airing on December 1st (may need confirmation for that). Then we get another big hiatus.
With the weird sound going on in the credits, some people on the SU Subreddit have said that they feel the hiatus should've begun with Gem Harvest because then it'd give the whole "calm before the storm" feeling that the credits seemed to be implying.

The Gems are still technically immigrants so they kinda have has much claim to America as nearly every other American barring the actual natives.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
