A nice, but kinda awkward thanksgiving special...
Twas alright, I guess.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Honestly, I can see this episode as being a bit of a base breaker, but aside from the ending portions that hit me pretty hard, I think this episode is more in the middle compared to other episodes. Not bad, but not the highest of quality.
The humor in it was on point though.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?As miffed as I am that the Myth Arc didn't advance at all in this episode, I'm a sucker for episodes with all the gems together.
Also Carl is Steven's uncle which amuses me to no end.
GUNDAMU GUNDAMUNice to have new episodes again. Now Andy's a bit of a jerk but I like the guy if only because he gives Steven more access to his human side then just Greg as the Gems kinda outnumber him in that regard. I wonder if were ever gonna meet any more extended family members.
Also it never fails to get a laugh out of me just how out of touch the Gems are with humanity. Over a thousand years living among us & they apparently don't even know what marriage is. I swear at some point someone has to sit the Gems down & just give them an in-depth detailed explanation over human culture and biology.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."How should I feel about the Gems making light of their history? I didn't think any of them were ones for Gallows Humor.
They dwell on the past a lot, it's actually pretty nice that they can make light of it...despite the harshness of it all.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. When Pearl said to raise your hand if you got thanked, I was cringing so much inside. Like that sooo awkward for Andy, geez. Also, I like how they showed Andy as super conservative, but didn't just paint him as a bad person.
What was really interesting to me though, was how Andy seemed to understand that they were from space and that wasn't exactly the problem. His problem was that they were 'illegal aliens'. He's another example of people not being fazed by the fantasy parts of SU's world, but this time from a person who isn't from Beach City. I had previously just assumed the residents of Beach City weren't too surprised about all this weirdness because the Crystal Gems and their temple have been there longer than the city, but that wouldn't apply to Andy.
You don't always get result's, just cause you worked hard.Miffed?! I'm straight-up ticked off that the Myth Arc wasn't even addressed, let alone advanced.
I remember saying when the preview came out that I didn't expect it to be a non-plot episode, and no one believed me, saying there could be something more plot-related or dramatic in the rest of it.
Who's wrong now?
Also, at least Bismuth (the episode and character) advanced the mythology somewhat.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawThe thing is Rose really couldn't get married. None of them obtained citizenship.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Not, really. Citizenry isn't that important.

I think that was "Onion Gang".
I do think this one was somewhat underwhelming.
Oh God! Natural light!Onion Friend had Vidalia in it, which elevated it by a large degree.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.

I dunno. I wasn't a fan.
