Considering the guy had a Gem in his house for years and he never realized it, I think it would be fine. It's not like his usual methods would do much to harm her anyway. Besides it takes a lot more to hurt a crazy Gem anyway.
It'd probably be vaguely adorable seeing him bond with her and feeding her weird things.
It was in the lighthouse basement, inactive, and inside a wall...wouldn't blame the Fryman for not knowing there was a thing there.

So they might. Congrats. And? I can go on Young Justice topic and ask if heroes would be upset and we'll also get an "yep". I could go on TMNT topic and ask if turtles would be excited about new Marvel movie. I could ask on Miraculous Ladybug what she thinks about politics in Iraq or whatever.
I just don't feel like reading about politics here. We have South Park for this stuff.

Sorry, sorry, it's just that I'm tired of politics everywhere and generally when people show fictional characters talking about real stuff like that it feels...exploitive. One of reasons I've dropped Texts from Superheroes is that it recently turned into nothing but heroes talking how Lex Luthor or Red Skull are better Trump. Dude could burn my house and this still would make me cringe.
But free speech. If I don't like it, I'll just avoid this topic for page or two.
Pearl knows she can't run for mayor, but I could totally see Peridot thinking, "These clods don't know how to run a city. I'm running for office." Then the entire episode is about her running against Mayor Dewey, and it ends with everybody coming to the realization that Peridot legally can't run for mayor, so Dewey wins by default.

They're inert until another gem is nearby, so could just as well think it's a giant movie prop.
