I would be fine with that. We've also seen an evil Pearl, evil Rubies, and know there are evil Amethysts.

The problem for me is this specific character.

Man I want to love a character in this show the way you do Jasper. I like everyone, but not one has bloomed into full loving adoration. Sigh...

I like everyone more or less equally. Connie I really, really like, but even then not to the extent that others won't edge her out in episodes. I tend not to have favorite characters of any show, or if I do, that doesn't preclude others from having their fair shots at time in the spotlight.

Connie's an amazing character, and I'm a little concerned the focus on Stevonnie might result in us getting less of her as a character. Not too concerned, but still.

I don't think we need to worry - Connie's already gotten a lot of focus, even when Stevonnie comes up, so I don't think we'll be glossing over her stuff.

Every Stevonnie appearance seems to give us some good Connie beats too

I'm still faintly surprised they've gotten as many speaking appearances as they have. Their actress is a professional singer too, so it's nice the Crewniverse seemed to have pick someone that can be available for recording and are developing them.

It would be nice if Connie had just a few more appearances though. I've not counted exactly, but I believe Peridot has either almost as much, or just a bit more total screentime than she does.

Stevonnie screentime is Steven and Connie screentime. Like, they are their own entity, but they are also Steven and Connie, just like how Garnet screentime is also Ruby and Sapphire screentime.

[up][up]For the latter it would the opposite, because we knew Garnet first...so whenever they get screen time it's more like the two halves of Garnet's personality interacting with eachother.

Every Stevonnie episode had focus on Steven and Connie individually, but I wouldn't say the same about Garnet for Ruby and Sapphire.

the issue with Garnet is that so far, almost all her focus episode have to do with Fusion, her being the fusion specialist have the bad sidefect of locker with that topic alone, even when there are other like she as leader or as fighter.

Also we can do another round of "Guess why Garnet acted that way with videogame!" evil grin

I agree. Fusion episodes are great, but I'd love more Garnet episodes that don't have to do with fusion, but instead have to do with her being a leader. Or a flashback episode to when Garnet had to first step into the position of leader. Or something else showing the weaknesses that she feels she can't show because she has to be strong for the sake of the other Crystal Gems.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.

You mean like her not knowing what to do...but instead of it being a background thing, it's actually the focus of the episode?

Don't forget about all the episodes that focus on Garnet's future vision. Garnet's not a one trick pony at all. She's a TWO trick pony.

I'd argue "Love Letters" wasn't much about fusion; it was only directly brought up when Garnet explained why she wasn't romantically interested in anyone.

Don't forget about all the episodes that focus on Garnet's future vision.
"Future Vision" and maybe (in hindsight) "Arcade Mania" are all. "Winter Forecast" was about the power, and it's important in other episodes, but none where Garnet was the focus of the episode.

In "Coach Steven" Garnet and Amethyst were exhausted after they unfused. Why? Sugilite wasn't tired from her ocean swim. It seems like they were suggesting that being fused for a long time is bad for you, but we know that isn't even remotely true from Garnet. So what's up?

They just said in that episode from 2 years ago...

Sugilite overworked their bodies...the same thing happened with Alexandrite in "Super Watermelon Island"

Them being fused too long was cause for a different problem.

[up][up] I've always taken Garnet as an exception to the rule, given the nature/cause for her fusion is very different from any other fusion we see except maybe Stevonnie.
