Though granted, that arc could be split into halves, so to speak - Jasper and the Beta Kindergarten, then the Rubies IN SPACE.

Oh God! Natural light!Hmm, not that it explains much, it seems like a way to hand wave some of her more improbable aspects that aren't just because she's a cartoon character, but this
is at least an idea I've never seen before about Connie.
I presumed, given the ominous title, that Gem Harvest would be fluff but if it's double-length it's probably relevant. I guess it may well open with farming fun and lead into kindergarten stuff.
Also pumpkin dog is adorable, although the Gem Harvest clip pretty much makes Steven's knife jokes all by itself with the pumpkin disembowelment.
The Unshaved Mouse has reviewed SU, focusing on the Sardonyx arc: https://unshavedmouse.com/2016/10/06/steven-universe/
He also created this
, which may be the most simultaneously accurate and hilarious summary of the show's backstory that I have ever seen.

No hype for bumpers...those are only on the televised version anyway.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, I think the Bismuth bumpers were just there to play into the same deception the ads for it were going for (i.e. introducing a new team member only to take them away by the end), and not because they necessarily needed them. Whether or not Gem Harvest will have bumpers at all is a toss-up at this point. They would probably be cute, though.
Has there been an announced date for the beginning of new episodes, by the way?

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I was predicting around halloween, because of the pumpkin carving, but Thanksgiving might be a more realistic guess.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged Men
I didn't even think of that. I doubt they'll re-use the bumpers, but it didn't cross my mind that the episode might be double length because Bismuth comes back.
If that's the case, that'll be really interesting.

I've been wondering about Bismuth, and Lapis, and the role of "civilians" in Gem society. Peridot's supposedly just a technician, but she flies around in a warship, and can apparently kill unknown life forms with impunity (what if the Stevens were an intergalactic power? She could have started a war). Sapphire isn't on Earth to fight directly, but she is there to advise Blue Diamond on the war effort, so she's part of the war. And then there's all the other members of Blue Diamond's court- are they just there, or do they serve some purpose as advisors or commanders? Do Quartzes command other soldier Gems, or is there some aristocrat who oversees them?
I don't think Bismuth was immoral for attacking an unknown Gem on the battlefield, because for all she knows, Lapis isn't a scout, she's the aristocratic commander of these Quartzes.

I wonder if the show could get away with continuous episodes with more than two parts. I'll admit that suddenly having a change in episode length is incredibly unlikely, so it would be interesting if they could have an single story arc span, say, five episodes.
