I mean, it's just a ship though. If S comes back she's obviously not going to leave Pearl for Greg.
But if she did, then, well, that's a bi lady who likes a dude. That's as valid as Pearl hooking up with her. If, specifically, the problem is that Pearl's getting snubbed I get it, but I disagree with the idea of it having an issue otherwise (mostly because it's pure crack).
Like, you know of a pretty danged similar case for me in another series we both follow and you know of how complicated that is for me.

I don't think it's worth worrying about because there's no way the show is going to pair up Greg with S. Not only because Greg wouldn't do that, but because the crew seemed really excited about Pearl's part of the episode so they wouldn't want to just undo all of that.
I would like to think most of the support for the pairing is ironic,as well, but all I've seen of it is a comic joking about it.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, the S Greg pairing is mostly a joke, with Pearl being the butt of it.
That said, I think Greg/Barb would be great!
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawI suppose my issue with the whole thing is that it's fairly clear that S is a replacement of Rose. That can't be healthy, even in people who aren't neurotic abused "statues". I put statues in quotations mainly because I ain't ever heard of a job that consisted of standing around and looking pretty, and because Peridot is socially incompetent.

Don't worry, at least 90% of that pairing has no bad intent with it. They're not saying, "Wouldn't it be funny if this lesbian girl turned out to be straight?" They're saying "Wouldn't it be funny if Pearl lost another love interest to the same person?"
Why does it? Because Toriyama can only draw one female face, remember?

That might be in the Manga, but I haven't read it. I don't remember it being brought up before.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Honestly, it's kind of insulting to say that Pearl's attraction to the mystery girl is unhealthy. We haven't even seen much of the relationship and then, because of her looking like someone Pearl used to be attracted to, it's somehow a sign that it's unhealthy?
Can Pearl even do anything without being scrutinized for it?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?![]()

Yeah, probably. I guess I just know to many obscure facts about serial killers to not find connections wherever I go. I was partially joking there.
True, I guess my head likes to go straight to the end-point while ignoring all the different ways the path really goes.

Seriously, I'm getting to where I'm just incredibly defensive of Pearl because of how much scrutiny people put her under. She's like the Mabel Pines of Steven Universe, either you love her or you hate her and nobody can agree on her. There's still people that won't forgive her for Rose's Scabbard, Sworn to the Sword, or Cry For Help.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Pearl's interactions with S, as brief as they are, don't scream Replacement Goldfish to me. She let S direct the conversation and gave her a bit of info about her species and her history. In doing so that recognizes that she's a new person who doesn't share her history like Rose did.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Ted Bundy. He already was a sociopath when he was rejected by one of his girlfriends. He would be incredibly amicable at times, even emotionally supportive, working at suicide help-lines and being kind to friends in need. The rejection made him go on a rampage, and guess what is one of the primary theories on why he targeted the people he did? And here's the real brain-tickler: what is the biggest reason of why I am wrong?

Maybe Greg could move on, maybe he doesn't really need to. He cherished the time he had with Rose Quartz, but that one romantic relationship was good enough, and he doesn't feel like he needs another to be happy.
