at some point fuck sympathy
moved to Oceanstuck because this handle was starting to bother me my tumblrSays who? What makes corruption a worthy punishment for shattering a diamond? I personally consider torture worse than murder anyway.
But she's not trying to kill rebels for punishment. That would make sense. She's trying to destroy an entire planet. The planet isn't a rebel.
No. Sympathy is great. But don't let that stop us from doing what needs to be done.
it seemed pretty obvious that
x3 was randomness saying what homeworld thinks/would think
also theres a reason i said sympathy not empathy
i can understand why people do things but that doesnt mean i feel bad for them
welp page topper

I know. But you should feel bad for them anyway. I don't see anything wrong with feeling bad for someone and then executing them anyway as they cannot be allowed to exist.
They were going to ruin the planet anyway...because of the rebels, now they're just gonna blow it up.
They are only screwing themselves over with this "spite" thing.
Feeling bad for people is an option, not mandatory. The rebels only received their just desserts.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That changes nothing. They're killing for spite. that's all that matters.
Not being overthrown and executed is also not mandatory. Things being options doesn't make them equal or mean that none of the options are inherently bad.
Again, says who? What makes it a just punishment?
It's a just punishment because they're fighting against their HW...it's treason, putting a random planet before your own. Just out of your own interest.
This little spec of rock means nothing in all the universe.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. And what makes Homeworld law inherently just? And why are they supposed to be loyal? And why is this a just punishment for disloyalty?
I come from a country with a history of unjust laws and a history of having disloyal individuals as the heroes.
Only their laws matter to them...they may be prone to change in the future, but that doesn't matter.
How their system works now is what matters. If they don't see anything wrong with them now, thas all there is to it.

Randomness isn't trying to achieve nothin'...they just like defending the villains.
If they actually cared about the law, the difference would make a heck of a...difference. Also priorities, they never have to use phones...but they would notice the buildings and purpose of them.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I put my thoughts that way: If in the end, literally every Gem will be treated with some degree of sympathy, leaving only Marty and Kevin as only 100% unlikable characters, I will be a bit...miffed.
It kinda bothers me when people react more harshly to crimes that feel more realistic. You yell at your kids, rot in hell. Your neighbor wants to blow up Canada, maybe he just needs a hug.
I wouldn't really say that. There's still a bit of subtext to Marty and Kevin that people tend to ignore for one reason or another.
Kevin's obviously got his own issues with narcissism and entitlement and Marty, at least when we see him when he's older, has a lot of problems expressing feelings properly.
Oh really when?Regarding the whole discussion of homeworld and the Diamonds, I'm withholding judgement on the Diamonds in particular until we get the full story of how gem society came to be. If they go with the well worn (and not without reason) trope of the gems having been created as weapons by Precursors or something of that sort, then I don't really think you could justify being willing to forgive the likes of Peridot and Jasper and so on and not extend the same courtesy to the Diamonds.

Honestly though, those rebels deserved that corruption...they shattered a Diamond. That's enough of a reason to kill them before.
