But the 2012 TMNT and Regular Show are doing the Space venture thing...it'd be a total rip-off no matter how good it is.
You could say that about a lot of plots the show has done that they ended up doing successfully. In fact, some people have, only to be impressed when they see the episode.

The vast majority of the time this show does a plot that seems cliche, they do something original with it that makes it work.

The one time I can think of off the top of my head where it didn't work is Dropbeat Dad.

> They do have an actual ending planned, though.

but it will never be the perfect ending everyone dreams about

Like,I think Steven will look at Gems like Jasper,Bismuth and Eyeball and resize while he can save them the gem empire will always produce more like them, and that his mother's rebellion had done more harm then good ,so he repairs the homeworld warp and directly confronts the remaining diamonds..from there I have no idea what's supposed to happen next

The proper ending they have in mind probably involves Homeworld being liberated from Diamond control

Sorry to say it, but I found it just a tad creepy for Pearl to get such an infatuation with someone who looks like her dead previous flame's doppelganger. It's giving me Vertigo vibes.

Wait, Regular Show is doing a space arc? Like where the cast gets a spaceship and goes on adventures to different planets?

Yeah, Regular Show is doing a space arc to finish the show out.

Figures they'd go with the option that feels the most 80's.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Well, I don't really get why. Being attracted to people with similar looks is pretty normal. If she saw Rose's personality in her where it isn't, that'd be one thing, but Pearl doesn't do that.

You could also say the comment you're responding to was a joke.

I know its really, really, REALLY old, but I dont think the children's programming on Steven Universe is good. Seriously, "Crying Breakfast Friends" is funny, but someone here actually said its intelectually challenging, that "It shows kids its ok to be sad" and that "It beats most of the real world kids programming". No, just...no. Even Greg points out the badness of CBF by saying "I used to like cartoons". Im really sorry, but I feel ticked off by this. There are emotionally compelling real world cartoons and kids shows. Didnt anyone see any of the more emotional Sesame Street episodes?

If "Crying Breakfast Friends" isn't written by Mr. Frowny, it's probably Canadian.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

@S looking like Rose: Yes Steven pointed it out, but you've gotta pay attention to more than just that. Like Pearl said, "I'm done thinking about the past".

She's not thinking about Rose. She's thinking about this cool mystery woman with awesome hair. She strikes up a conversation with S, and from what we saw, never treated S like a Replacement Goldfish. They flirted, she got S to laugh, and she got her number. She's not thinking about Rose anymore, and that's a very good thing.

It's really probably just them acknowledging criticism humorously with a Show Within a Show, like how Simpsons responded to criticism of cartoon violence with Itchy and Scratchy.

@smokey: So she says, but she also sung "why can't I move on" not all that long ago. And they didn't really have to make her look THAT similar. We'll have to see what happens. If anything. Doesn't help that beyond her looks and pretty good taste in music, we know literally nothing about this character yet.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Pearl wearing a leather jacket and pants and her generally trying to act like a rebel reminded me of a series of fanart about Bad Girl Pearl that I saw somewhere on deviantArt. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Can't remember the artist at the moment.
