How she handled it at the end...?
Because trying to impress a stranger you just met isn't...uh, good.

That's cute.
If she and S. do get into a relationship then they're going to tackle that whole Replacement Goldfish and Loving a Shadow aspect for sure, or else her similarity to Rose wouldn't have been lampshaded as it was.
I want something to happen, if only to see how it gets handled. Even if nothing really happens, a human helping Pearl out with her baggage would still be a fun and interesting story to watch.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenLike if that were wrong... then is every dating service wrong? I don't think it is?

Only example of 'just a type' and not 'hasn't actually moved on' I can think of is Jake going from dating a horse to Lady Rainicorn in Adventure Time. But that was a step up from a regular talking horse to a magical rainicorn, a human punk is a huge step down from a gem War Goddess.

Does it just happen immediately? Do you impress for another person to approach you? Do you gain interest before trying to impress?

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That seems awkward...but a person like me wouldn't understand that anyway.
People confuse me.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I was mainly only using the word impress because that's the word you were using. But sometimes I guess? if the conversation is nice, and they think you're neat. It didn't really happen all at once though. They saw each other three times. Then they talked for a while.
As an aside I think S thought Pearl was into new age stuff or hinduism or something. Because she was really immediately on board with the idea of her being a "being of light" from what Pearl said. And that's the only other context I can think of where that makes sense.

I used "impress" because seeing that girl made Pearl do stuff she wouldn't normally do, in a bad way...and I couldn't think of the word for that.
Maybe she thought Pearl was high...on cloud puffs.

Well, it didn't stick out...so it just looked weird.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Goddamn this episode has driven the anti-Pearl/Dewey and Pearl/Greg haters nutsos. Neither of them are ships I have any interest in at all, but seriously. Chillax. Some of the art is cute, and also any time you're telling artists to kill themselves because they like or draw a ship you don't? Might be time to step away from the computer for a few minutes.
Also to maybe pay attention to the messages of the damn show you're getting so worked up over.

its like those horror stories they pass around about the mlp fandom but with 1000% more moral indignation
moved to Oceanstuck because this handle was starting to bother me my tumblrI'm also starting to really hate the phrase "coded as". Sure it has legitimate uses for actual Getting Crap Past the Radar, Does This Remind You of Anything?, intentional Homoerotic Subtext and the like. But it's just as often a pseudointellectual way for people to say "my ship/headcanon is actual canon and if you disagree with me you're objectively wrong".
I mean, both Amedot and Lapidot shippers have used it to justify their ship being the true OTP and not the other's. It's unlikely they're both right and even if one of them are it's a bit presumptuous at this point. Plus the people pushing Pearl/Amethyst as canon, or the people claiming that Jasper is "coded" as nonbinary or transmasc gender because of her butchness which flies directly in the face of the creator's own words, at which point I'm just sitting back facepalming.

I've found mixing shipping and ethics to be a bad idea. It often results in people acting self-righteous more than anything else and having a convenient rationalization to justify themselves with as opposed to just admitting they like it, nothing more or less.
