Those "wonders of the cosmos" had better be wonderful...or Randomness will be mildy disappointed.

The Cluster gem is almost as big as the moon
Not even close. You can see the entire thing and the drill is still easily visible. The gem isn't even 100 times the width of that tiny cockpit.

If it was anywhere near that big, it would massive effect Earth's ecosystem even without hatching. Human geologist would have discovered it decades earlier than the Crystal Gems, even if they obviously couldn't go there.

The diagram of the cluster in the prime kindergarten shows it as bigger. Likely that was the size when it was injected and it got compressed under the weight of Earth to form the current cluster.

Did anyone else watch Kubo and the Two Strings and think of Rose a lot when finding out about Kubo's mom?

The diagram of the cluster in the prime kindergarten shows it as bigger. Likely that was the size when it was injected and it got compressed under the weight of Earth to form the current cluster.
The difference seems to be something like <200 meters vs. over 200 KILOmeters. It was most likely not to scale, because otherwise the Cluster's gemstone would be impossible to see on a global scale.

I guess you could draw parallels between Lion and Monkey, maybe.

Kubo is a hella good movie.

In a SU-related topic, how far does the foreshadowing rabbit hole go?

These two are a fanart gold mine.

[up]Oh my clod, it really is them!

I wonder if this means the wild mass guess I saw on tumblr about Mr. Frowny being the creator of Crying Breakfast Friends really is true!

(Also, Kubo was good, worth the $7.50 to see in the theater.)

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Wait, that's...actually a neat idea. It's amusing that most of Steven's media consumption seems to be either weird or depressing, or weirdly depressing. Lonely Blade, Crying Breakfast Friends, the sad stuffed animals, and so on.

This show's definitely got the most extensive list of shows within shows.

I wish more children's shows weren't so one note and inoffensive. The shows Steven watches display a wide range of emotions, whereas real children's media is the opposite. I think that's one of the reasons people hated Barney so much

Wide? All those characters do is cry...

While Lonely Blade is probably a PG series.

Ninja Squad went from happy fun times to pure angst within two posters.

Also the people who hate Barney are touless.

At first glance you'd probably pronounce it like "souless".

But it's actually just "tools"...bam.

It's an unhealthy emotional message. Real world media, not the ones Steven watches. The shows Steven watch send the message that it's ok to be sad and emotional , and that you don't have to be 100% happy all the time. I feel like shows aimed at children don't teach them this, and, probably unintentionally, send the message that if they're upset, somethings wrong with them

Care Bears had Grumpy Bear. Apparently the creators wanted to show that it's okay to be grumpy sometimes, though I'm not sure if that message came across in the show.
