She was injured because she was outside the bubble...that was independent of anything either of them did.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Pretty sure the out of his control part they're both talking about is the part where Steven abandons Eyeball in the depths of space, because she's trying to chisel his gem.
Eh, nvm missed some context. The point is though that Eyeball wasn't going to trust him no matter what. She would have realized he was Rose anyway after healing her even if he hadn't told her.

The whole thing with Eyeball was pretty much a spit-second discussion seeing as she was seconds away from stabbing him to death and ignoring all of his pleas.
GUNDAMU GUNDAMUShe was very grateful.
Stephen gave her a chance to capture Rosey Quartz.
She accepted with murderous glee.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Lapis was doing fairly well in "Beta". She's polite to her guests, is humoring and taking part in Peridot's activities, has a few moments of genuine happiness, and seems pretty content with her lot in life.
As a depressive character and someone who has it myself, I appreciate that she goes up and down. Some fans that insist she should smile and act happy all the time annoy me.Even if she's not the most socially pleasant Gem to be around she has a right to feel the way she does on her own terms. And now she gets to do just that.
She's the most socially pleasant to be around...almost completely disinterested in everything happening around her, that's dream mate material.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Serious threat in early season one: a mascot costume is granted sentence and force-feeds people fries, forcing Steven to strip naked and use his own clothing as warriors to defeat it.
Serious threat in early season four: Steven has to deal with the consequences of repressing traumatic memories of the times where he failed to save three different people from A Fate Worse Than Death.
This show... both
and @37839 would be perfect page toppers for Cerebus Syndrome if they weren't so spoilertastic.
@darkabomination: LSBK's issue wasn't that Lapis is unhappy, it was that everything turns to drama when she's around.
I don't really think that's true either. "Same Old World" was mostly lighthearted, "Barn Mates" was half drama/half comedy, and the Lapis and Peridot parts of "Beta" were almost entirely slice-of-life. So out of her four major appearances in the season, only one was really that drama-heavy.
x5: I wasn't aware that some fans insisted that Lapis be happier. That doesn't really make sense for her character. I mean, she's been through a lot of shit, it makes sense that she wouldn't be all sunshine-and-rainbows all the time. I really love her bitter and apathetic characterization way more than that hypothetical alternative.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.Yeah. Part of why I like Jasper and Lapis so much is because of their depression, and how I identify with it. Admittedly, I always liked Jasper, but since Earthlings and Rebecca Sugar's interview, I like her much much more.
I pretty much switch between apathy, like Lapis, and acting like I'm awesome and perfect and can do no wrong, like Jasper. I'm glad that they're showing depression as being more varied than just being mopey all the time. They're depicting it in realistic ways.
Just that last part, really.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.People tend to forget how bubbles work...when making that statement.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Bismuth is in stasis. She's not experiencing a fate worse than death, and she's not "dead" either.
And Jasper is basically being prevented from suffering. She basically only experienced it for a few seconds before poofing and being bubbled.

Well, they haven't given up on trying to cure corruption, so though there's no definite timeline of unbubbling and curing it, saying they plan on leaving Jasper and all the others like that forever isn't exactly right either.
Edit: On Lapis, maybe everything doesn't turn to drama when she's around, but it does when she's prominent, which makes it feel like everything with her. For what it's worth, I also identify with he apathy. Not because I have depression, but just because my general mood is...not conductive to great social interaction or emotion. But whether or identify with aspects of a character has never been a big thing with me.

Apathy is the feeling with absolutely Zero negatives.
You only ever feel stuff when you want to, not need to.
For that mental state, Lazuli needs a new outfit that goes with it.

He could've helped the terminator Ruby if he hadn't told her that he was Rosey.
