You want more of "Beta" and "Hit the Diamond" Lazuli?
I like the idea of her and Peridot and maybe a few others getting a Titans West setup at the barn, but I just hope Steven hangs out with her a bit more soon. We've been getting a lot of shorty squad episodes, so it'd be neat to see how, say, Lapis and Pearl interact with each other.
We've seen how Peridot interacts with everyone, but not Lapis.

I was afraid they weren't going to do much with her besides additional drama and so far that's been correct.
I hold similar feelings about Jasper, even if they fix her and she comes around, where is she going to stay? The Temple? Doubtful. With Lapis and Peridot? Even more doubtful. I'd kind of like her to go walk about, just like I hoped for with Lapis.

A nomadic Gem, who's enriched with Earthy experience...
That's something cool, that Gem would learn more about Earth and Hyoo-mans than the CG did for the 5000+ years they spent there.

Would that be her home?
Nomads don't have homes.
It'd be a drag to constantly backtrack than to just keep moving forward.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I have no doubt in my mind that Jasper's going to get uncorrupted and redeemed. However, that detail that she's just power-obsessed as a way of overcompensating for her perceived inadequacies for being made on Earth just doesn't...feel right. It feels like it's trying to justify it as opposed to point it out as a legitimate flaw.
It seemed off for me that she came across as almost desperate in "Alone At Sea", but then went back to being smug and overconfident by "Gem Hunt". I thought it would show her sense of pride deteriorating over time before getting captured. Maybe they'll do it once she gets uncorrupted.
Also, I know it's late to say, but what really convinced me of the show's quality was "Alone Together". Taking the concept of Sharing a Body and playing it neither for comedy or drama, but for emotional development for the characters involved, was what really made me think highly of the show.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawOf course she was smug...Stephen, Connie, and Pearl can't defeat a Jaspee, she could've bomped one of em right on the noggin and none of them would've been able to do nothin' about it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.A lot of people on tumblr are predicting that once she's uncorrupted she'll just kind of... Stop. Have a full breakdown and not even try to fight back anymore. She won't jump headfirst into a redemption, and she'd probably just try to let them shatter her, but Steven will keep trying to help her now that he's seen how much she hates herself.
I could see it playing out something like that.
Whatever happens, I'm hoping they give an actually get reason for them trying to corruption her before basically everyone else.
And, no, I don't consider "she hasn't been like that as long" a good reason. Steven maybe being able to stop it before it was complete is one thing, but that's not the case anymore.

It's vice-versa too, if Amethyst's "Yeah, 'cause when I think fun, I think 'Lapis'" is any indication. Which makes sense. Lapis is a Homeworld Gem, who stole the ocean and tried to drown Steven and Connie.
For something a little more comedic, her unstable mind should instantly re-corrupt her...twice.
That'd be funny, then she calms down after being beat up.
Amethyst was like that towards Lazuli since "Political Power"...her comment in "Beta" was referring to how she's always just apathetic.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That would be interesting to see. Those three examples that haunted him are examples of him not being able to save someone in the moment. I wonder what would happen when he has chance after chance to try to help someone, and it still won't work.
I would think the thought of someone being beyond his help, no matter how often and hard he tried, would just consume him.

Foolish empathy is foolishly empathetic.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It seems like the show is moving towards him accepting things like that. Like, understanding that Kevin and Marty are just horrible people, and that Rose shattered someone and it was apparently necessary.
I doubt the show will ever actually have him shatter someone, but I think "somethings are unavoidable" is being reasonably accepted.
