Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. He doesn't see Centipeedle as someone he failed to help. He saw Bismuth, Jasper, and Eyeball. Jasper is easily accessible at the temple, and the crew doesn't have to worry about getting ahold of her actress like with Bismuth.
It's not about healing corruption, it's about Steven feeling he failed her. Plus, again, the central theme of Season 4 is learning to love yourself without being in a relationship, which doesn't apply to Bismuth, Centi, or Eyeball.
The difference between Connie and Jeff and Steven and Bismuth/Jasper/Eyeball is that they all refused his help. Connie made a mistake, and worked to fix it. Steven didn't make any mistakes in his handling of those three, they're the ones who refused him. Connie even told him there was nothing more that could be done.
If you want to be technical about it Jaspy is probably the worst person to start with since she has a grudge against Steven that'll probably resurface about halfway through treatment and cause a relapse almost immediately and I don't think anyone has an answer for that. Plus she's the odd duck; not counting the stasis, she just got like that, as opposed to everyone else who's been like that for thousands of years.

That too. A big part of Steven's arc is making piece with the fact that things don't always work out. That doesn't mean he shouldn't try to save everyone, but it accepting he can't always help.
Edit: Also, I'd say that Lapis needs to work on loving herself, too.

To have an immediate list.
Though, if it's an overall list...patience is necessary.

I see season 3 as preparing Steven, and the audience, for enemies that do not want to change, or believe that they can. Starting small with Marty and Kevin, before escalating to Bismuth, Jasper, and Eyeball. The Diamonds will be much, much worse. The antagonists were still sympathetic this season, especially Bismuth, but the Diamonds will likely have their sympathetic traits drowned out by everything that makes them horrible.
Even if season 3' antagonists get redeemed, it prepares the audience for those that won't.

Ooh, I like the way you're thinking. That would make a nice, gradual build up to Steven having to learn that lesson.

That being said, Jasper being a CG just seems wrong. Lapis isn't even a CG. If they're going to save her I'd rather she just go off on her own for awhile.
