I thought Steven Universe porn would be the reason we can't have nice things, but turns out it's shipping. It's shame about Lauren Zuke. It's a shame that social media is a tool for cyber bullying and online harassment. I've seen angry rants against Lapidot pointed at the entire SU Crew on Tumblr under the lapidot tag, but it's a surprise to hear that it's progressed to full on harassment. It's okay if people like different ships it's not going to end the world.
I've gotten negative reactions to my ships, but I had no idea the fandom had gotten so bad. Shipped Lapidot since Peridot's second appearance just because I could, which put me in the crazy shipper bin according to so folks. Greg and Rose are my SU OTP not because I'm "blinded by hetrolenses" or homophobic it's because of the way they look at each, it's their chemistry, but I've been told I was wrong. I am Pearlnet shipper for life, but people want argue with me that Garnet is not an individual she's a fusion so I shouldn't ship her with Pearl
.
Speaking Pearlnet last night's episode was full of it
. It's was a great episode. I love Sugilite just hearing her voice made me so happy. Sardonyx and Smokey Quartz make an entertaining duo; they are the performers. I want a battle team up with them against Big Ruby and Jasper. Sardonyx is quite bug like.
Does anyone else miss the fusion dances?

"Procrastinate now, don’t put it off." Ellen De GeneresI remember when people were shipping Lapidot just because they were the two Homeworld Gems we knew existed.
Its fun to think back to that considering where we've ended up. Nobody could have predicted angry gremlin and Lapis would become meepmorp friends.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHeck from staff responses, they're just fine with porn. That's not even close to being a problem. Which is great, because I really tire of some creators acting disgusted/surprised when fans do what fans are going to do.
The shipping thing's unacceptable.
Hopefully more fans will show their support, because I agree ignoring it isn't the right response either. Fight hate with love, not with violence or outrage.
It's really a shame that Lauren had to delete her Twitter. People who decide it's cool to harass someone because of a ship really need to reevaluate their priorities and their life choices. And then, y'know, not harass people because of a ship, because honestly, that's petty and dumb.
Yesterday's episode was fun! Sardonyx and Smoky Quartz make quite the comedic duo! I love that they're both performers, but in different ways.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.It seems when Garnet fuses, her pride becomes a more negative aspect of the result, even if that's not nearly as much a problem for Sardonyx as Sugilite.
This makes me morbidly curious for what kind of egotistical lunatic a Garnet/Peridot combo would make.
Good-bye, Lauren Zuke. Twitter is now lesser without your presence.
On a happier note, Sardonyx had some great
faces
in last night's episode.
I didn't even notice her top set of eyes being so derpy in the second pic at first.

I think the problem with social media is more the quantity of messages than the quality tbh. If you just heard from somewhere offhand that people didn't like something about what you created, you'd probably feel bad, but you wouldn't feel overwhelmed, like when thousands of voices are being bombarded at you.
I don't think most people even intend to harass (some of them do ofc). Most just feel entitled to shout their opinion loudly, and don't think about how they're probably getting the same thing from thousands of other people. Best thing for people to do when things blow up like that is to just set their twitter to private for a while, and/or get off altogether, until it blows over, because no site is going to be able to police that many voices for every person it happens to anyway.

This past week has made me want three things:
- A fancomic where Peridot gives the corrupted Gem Wile E. Coyote's "Allow me to introduce myself" speech from Operation Rabbit, especially the "you couldn't pass the entrance examinations to Kindergarten" bit.
- A fanfic about what the Gems were doing when Steven was out in space in Bubbles, though I might just write that one myself.
- Later, if and when we have more fusions in general, an episode where the different fusions hang out and interact with each other, at least as much as they're able (since several of them can't exist at the same time, of course).

I agree with seeing that second bullet...desperate depression is good times. Mostly during the search.
I want a fancomic where Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl keep getting banned from some public place (theater, zoo, etc.) and switching fusions around to get back in until ultimately end up with fusions too huge to fit in the building they were headed for, making every single combination of any them is banned—until a new fusion in unveiled, then someone follows the comic up with a sequel.
EDIT: Forgot to include Stevonnie. Every living character who's been part of a fusion is my point.

A sequel comic with Lazuli and P-dot...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'm still thinking about Pink Diamond too much... Got a fanfic idea myself centered around her that I should just write before the show inevitably invalidates it. It'd use this
◊ design for her.
I probably ought to finish this Stevonnie piece
◊ before I get my head into that, though. I'm quite bad about letting too many things pile up.
I want Steven to fuse with all the Crystal Gems and all of Beach City simultaneously.
Apparently bone is considered a gemstone similar to pearls, so I think the ultimate fusion's name would be Crystal Bone. They will be the one to defeat Homeworld and save the Earth, and maybe even the universe.
I dunno.

I would ask why the body suddenly looks so...shapely, but then I remembered it was fan-art.

I felt the opposite about "Kindergarten Kid". It's as if we all are capable of having unique perspectives on varying aspects of fictional media or something. Fancy that.
