Maybe so, but when we just got a bunch of episodes that connected to the Myth Arc and suddenly get a Fourth Wall episode like this... It kind of feels like filler, even if it isn't technically filler.
Oissu!I see it as more of a Breather Episode to top off the season with. Last episode was kinda that but too manic in its own way.
So Sapphire's gonna show up again. I think the odds of a certain song being about Garnet have dramatically increased.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I'll admit, I was disappointed it did't introduce any new fusions, but this was still fun to watch.
Garnet's solid 30 seconds of screaming and the Breaking the Fourth Wall moments were funny.
Also, I'm in the process of ranking all 21 episodes. Be back soon.
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawIt's not hard to call it filler if you just take it to mean "anime-original content", which is what I said earlier. It's not about making a judgment on its quality, that was the whole point of my original post.

Would make sense, while this show is on the idealistic end it's also not the type to romanticize things either, as with Alone at Sea and Lapis being portrayed as both a victim and a mutual abuser. And maybe it's the cynic in me but Ruby and Sapphire edge onto Sickeningly Sweethearts a bit more than is healthy.
I wanna know more about these two as individuals. As the Ruby Squad episodes showed, there's a lot of variation even within Gem types. These two are currently defined entirely by their relationship with each other, in a sort of mutual Satellite Love Interest. You don't surrender your autonomy when you enter a relationship, no matter how much your partner genuinely loves you.

Well, the clip of Sapphire has to be from either "Buddy's Book", "Mindful Education", or "Future Boy Zoltron", since the rest of the clips are. My guess is it's from the last, and the episode has Steven somehow use her future vision powers. And that clip's probably from some sort of flashback about her powers.
Either way, the episode I mentioned probably isn't happening in the next three weeks.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I agree with Alley Oop about Ruby and Sapphire. I don't like the implication that their relationship is entirely healthy as is.
They'll learn to be their own individuals sooner or later, yet again.

SU is not really a show that has filler considering the show is supposed to be a magical Slice of Life show at heart. With all the heavy plot stuff being largely in the background most of the time.
