In Bubbled Steven forgot that his bubbles can go home, because he's an idiot.

Have we ever seen anyone transport a bubble that big though? The only ones we've seen transported back to the Temple were ones that could fit in the palm of your hand.

I don't know if you can bubble yourself though.

I mean, his protection bubble is a different bubble than the bubbles he uses on corrupted gems.

No one was able ever able to transport a bubble they were in, and there could be a range limit.

Garnet transported him back to the temple in a bubble before.

Well I suppose Peridot got rock'd and rolled.

I think the transport bubbles and Steven's shield bubble are sort of different. I mean if they were so so alike in any way then theoretically any of the crystal gems could make their own bubble shields.

wild mass guess Steven is outside his protection bubble, which is why it doesn't block his powers like the other bubbles do.

You can see this in the way it forms from one direction.

If they were alike, it'd mean the gems were lying about the poofed gems being in stasis.

And considering Bismuth's sense of time we know it's probably a stasis field since from her perspective it was still 5000+ years ago.

Why would an obsidian be a spy, exactly? Is there something that obsidian is associated with that kind of makes that possible?

Well, not that I'm aware of. I just thought it was a good idea - darkness, and what-not? Is there anything about peridots that makes sense to associate them with technicians?

Also, again, it wouldn't be the first time "Obsidian" was associated with spies.

Edit: Apparently, they make for extremely sharp knives, so...

Peridot denotes intelligence, I think? There's a lot of traits from peridot that were incorporated into the character (a sign of danger, decaying when making contact with Earth, being commonly found in outer space, etc.).

Yeah, most of the gems do have traits from their namesake, though others (like Jasper) are super ironic in some aspects (Jaspers represent life and healing and comfort).

Huh, did not know that about jasper.

So, what are some traits of obsidian? The only thing I've got is that they're made from volcanoes.

[up]x4 Well, I suppose you've done more research than I have.

Mind you, this is mostly an off-the-cuff idea that I thought was an interesting one. From what I can tell, though, obsidian is brittle, but extremely sharp, which I thought would make sense for the sort of jobs I imagined they would be tasked with. Maybe "spy" is the wrong word - "commando" might be better?

If you could find anything else, I would greatly appreciate it.

Obsidian represents truth, protection, honesty, and grounding.

Hmm...works for what I had in mind for Snowflake, not really for the others.

Still, if what you say about jasper is true, then maybe it works via the irony factor.

How many more Gem types (singular and fused) do you think we'll see? Or maybe hope to see is a better phrasing.

Well I wanna know what Tourmalines are like, since we've seen a corrupted Watermelon Tourmaline.

Should we try to guess what kind of Gems the corrupted Gems are?

Gemstone mythos seems to always associate gems with positive mental traits, so they kind of have to be ironic for any villainous or antiheroic character.

[up]Corrupted gemstone show a lot more variety than what we've seen with uncorrupted gems.

Peridot is tough. She's a crazy mash of a Timex and the Energizer Bunny. She took lickings and kept going and going wink. The Kindergarten Kid always her gem making her smarter than all the other coyotes, I mean gems [lol].

Garnet is even stronger than I thought. She was able to poof Peridot with a squeeze.

I want Steven's bag of endless marshmallows.

I do know that Rebecca Sugar is supposed to be voicing a character sometime soon (and I think she mentioned a character she was excited for, don't know if it's the same one). We could be getting a new villain soon, who knows.
She did? Source?

Kind of hope she voices Blue Diamond. Also I think the character she was excited for awhile back was Bismuth.

wild mass guess It wasn't an airlock, but rather a gravity launch ramp designed to boost spacecraft free of Lunar gravity so they could safely engage their own warp drives.
