@Silent Colossus: That makes sense to me. Jasper and other Homeworld Gems are really just victims of the oppressive Gem hierarchy that the Diamonds established. Therefore it makes sense that the Diamonds never end up being redeemed, even if other Homeworld Gems do.

When we're done, there won't be anything left. The only thing missing from today's episode was Peridot walking up to the monster, introducing herself as an unbeatable genius and giving it a customary ten minutes to say its prayers (or whatever it is Gems do).
I kind of want to give the Corrupted Gem in today's episode a nickname. Has someone meticulously sussed out what gem it is yet?
'Til then, I'm calling it Gags Gemstone. And I want shorts.
I'm also hoping Jasper gets redeemed. A character obsessed with strength deserves to learn that it's not everything.
On the other hand, I do hope the show introduces a villain beyond redemption.

Well, yeah, but none of them had a personal vendetta like Jasper did or eyeball did.
Plus we know that their army was much smaller than the homeworld's. it's made clear it was only a few people, not thousands.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI point out that Garnet already technically was a convert, though it wasn't as if Homeworld gave her much of a choice.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Narratively speaking, since her last appearance involve her getting corrupted and hitting rock bottom, turning from an active villain into something akin to a werewolf plotwise: a dangerous but mindless wretch who needs to be saved in order to continue being a character.
A future appearance would have to have her being rescued from corruption, and they would have to address her rage and freakout immediately after returning her to normal which would mean her possibly getting the closure she sought - she has nowhere to go but up, now. The plot of Earthlings was arguably the crossroads for Jasper's entire character, the way it went being very important to her future as a character, and it's ending basically clinched that she would have a sympathetic plotline in the future.
As for the corruption wave, keep in mind that - horrific and terrible as it was - it was also retaliation for Rose killing one of their leaders. That alone gives them a sympathetic note, the same way the pain of failing Pink Diamond gives Jasper and Eyeball sympathetic traits.

But not everyone does come to feel regret or want to atone. Some people are incapable of feeling such things. Acting as if that's not the case isn't being optimistic, it's being in denial.
I am getting a bit too personal or close to insulting here?
Edit: If not Jasper, I feel they should show that with some Gems who aren't the Diamonds.

If they don't regret it, that's on them. But if a character, such as Jasper, realizes they made a wrong turn some point down the road, they shouldn't deny that person a chance to be better.
Jasper is at a point where homeworld would hate her (disobeying Yellow Diamond's orders, fusing with a different gem type, fusing with a corrupted gem, etc). That puts her in a position where Steven could get her to realize she doesn't owe homeworld her loyalty, and that she should fight to protect what she wants, not a diamond who snatched her up.
I don't think Jasper feels any particular loyalty to YD, anyway. And considering the circumstances, I doubt anything bad would happen to her if she went back. She wanted to bring "Rose Quartz" back, something I can't see YD being upset about, and the fusions were to crush the hated Crystal Gems, again, something I don't see YD being upset about.
I'm not saying if Jasper sees the error of her ways they should turn her away, I'm saying I could very easily see her not letting go. I mean, I could also see it going to other way, but I'm leaving options open.

We don't tend to get new openings as soon as a season starts.
We had to wait until several episodes into season 2, Sworn to the Sword, to get the new opening because they waited until exactly when Connie got the sword and not an episode more.
I'm sure once all their "New Status Quo" elements are introduced they'll bring in the new opening.
The Blog The ArtThe atomic bomb and the corruption wave can't be compared
For one the atomic bomb was dropped on one country, and it killed all caught in the blast radius..mostly,there was the radiation fallout that effected generations
The corruption wave was aimed at an entire planet and caused thousands to lose their minds,it was used by bad guys who were prepared to commit genocide
have a listen and have a link to my discord server

Depends how much water is around them and how quickly Jasper could make her way over to Lapis.
