@Smokey, to elaborate further, Jasper strikes me as the the type of character that get a lot of "projection". Either for one reason or another people identify with something about her (which, still seems weird to me, at least until she started appearing more) or just like the character, and so they start going "she's not that bad" or "she was justified" or something because apparently liking a villain without wanting or thinking they'll turn good is wrong.
Since people are bringing up birthstones, here's a chart I made a while ago

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawI think they were asking if the quote in your post was real, actually.

@LSBK: I'm sure I've been guilty of that from time to time, but the main reason why I do want Jasper to get redeemed is the fact that I'm really hoping this series shows that nobody is beyond the point of no return, not even Jasper. Everyone has a bit of good in them, and Steven just needs to pull that to the surface.
I actually have nothing against Jasper, but I'd really hate for the show to do that, so I'm hoping that whatever happens, she never "sees the light".
Or rather, I'd like for them to admit that you can't save everyone, but I still want Steven to try, because that's just the kind of person he is.

Another Ruby.
I'd be fine with Jasper getting a redemption arc eventually, even if isn't soon. At the very least, I want her to be healed, along with the other monsters.
The Diamonds, however, shouldn't have a redemption arc. They can be complex and fascinating characters, but still be awful people and villains. I can't see Steven killing them, but I can see them being bubbled. But as others noted, they need to destroy the Cult of Personality around the Diamonds, as well.

It would be horribly sad if: Jasper got redeemed but Eyeball just became even more of an Ax-Crazy foe to the end.

Peridot is replacing Steven with all these "inexperienced crystal gem" episodes. This one had a lot of parallels to "Monster Buddies".
