Since I missed all the controversial talk a few pages ago, I'll just say this:
Yes, it's disappointing for a show like this to have some negative stereotypes despite being so progressive in other aspects. But I think it's a bit unrealistic to think a show that's trying to be progressive in so many aspects isn't going to slip up somewhere. And they still have a chance to make up for it.
Also, the subreddit must be losing their minds since the whole site is down.

It is worth noting that Jasper and Eyeball's reasoning for shattering Rose is very different.
Eyeball wanted to become a war hero, to own a Pearl, and killing Rose would put that within her reach.
Jasper never mentions anything along those lines. She talks about being a great warrior, but we only found out about her war hero status from Eyeball. She wanted to shatter Rose purely to avenge Pink Diamond.
Eyeball was in it for the glory, Jasper was in it for what she believes to be justice.
