[up][up]I believe I read once that Rose could have given birth to a human child and kept her gem, but she wanted to make her gem/human hybrid which of course lead to the whole Mutually Exclusive People thing she has with Steven.

Let me see if I can find it.

Man, I liked that episode. I loved the use of Love Like You, and hope it becomes a recurring thing for season finales. If not, at least some sort of poignant song.

Why does this series keep bussing characters ;_;

First Centipeedle, then Bismuth, then some unimportant jerk, now the Ruby Squad.

why

[up][up]I've no doubt that the Ruby Squad will return somehow.

And considering Eyeball knows about Steven having Rose's gem, she is more than likely gonna report this to YD...

Steven Universe has 10 minute episodes, if they didn't have the bus the show would be way too crowded.

That has no relevance to episode length.

Do you think EVERY Gem that "belonged" to Pink Diamond got picked up by Yellow Diamond? Or do you think some went to Blue Diamond, some to White Diamond etc.

I know we've seen the three diamond insignia in a bunch of places, but I can't think of any of them off the top of my head.

[up][up] If you want characters to stick around, their plotlines be resolved and become recurring it does. If the main cast becomes too big it becomes more difficult to juggle more characters and plotlines at one time in such a short run time which is why the bus is there to take characters away until they are needed next.

Watched the episode.

That was... heavy. The one thing that bothered me more than anything else was how impossible the circumstances were. The rubies and Steven shouldn't have been flung out into space, and asteroid fields aren't actually that crowded.

If you want characters to stick around, their plotlines be resolved and become recurring it does.
Which still has nothing to do with episode length, because you're talking about the rate the seasonal plot progresses.

Steven had a big day.
And to think it all started with a visit to the barn.

I have to agree on the pacing. I wish the show got across better that characters aren't on a bus just because they're not in the episode.

[up]x4 If the run time is short that means you need to have a much tighter story which necessitates needing less characters which means plots and characters are stowed away until they need to make their next appearance. Its likely that's why Lapis and Peridot live in the barn too, since they live far enough away they can be justifiably off screen until they are needed next.

Fused with Amethyst

Fought and poofed and bubbled Jasper

Went to the moon

Found out his mother murdered someone

Floated in space

Almost died

Doomed Eyeball to float in space forever, and all the other Rubies

Almost died

Had a big cry and a hug

Came to terms with his mother killing someone

And he got a new spaceship!

Speaking of using characters, Lapis is one thing, but since Peridot considers herself a CG, and the feeling seems to be reciprocated, I'd appreciate it if she started going on missions. It would probably be good for her.

Just from the clip, we can see she does in tomorrow's episode.

I'm guessing/hoping the Ruby Squad will fill the "recurring comedic Homeworld villain" niche Peridot previously filled.
