But she's corrupted. Which we had an episode specifically dealing with, and showing how it can't be healed. And Centipeetle looks like a best-case scenario.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenBy "main" Gem, I meant she's a Gem the crew sees fit to put on the Comic Con
promo art pieces
◊.
My point being that it doesn't make sense to say "she's already gotten plenty of screen-time" to explain why she's essentially been Put on a Bus when characters like Lapis and Peridot, 1) have gotten more screen-time already and, 2) will presumably continue to receive screen-time.

Sure...no characters at all. Just something...like a rock survival travelling with the ever changing terrain.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It seems like Japser's not really going to be brought up again until the whole "Gem corruption" plotline starts up again, which could be sooner or later. They essentially have her on standby for whenever the creators want to bring her back into the story, the very definition of being Put on a Bus.
Also, this episode debunked the theory that the rest of Jasper's gem was in her head. The gem really was just her nose. By the way, isn't it common for shows with heroes and villains, especially animated ones, to have promo art of the whole cast, good and bad, in a themed group shot? Because if so, I wouldn't consider that evidence that Jasper's coming back as a good guy. But with Jasper out of the picture (for now), and with the Rubies seemingly on their way out, I wonder what conflict is going to come up in season 4.
And that art of Amy and Peri holding hands on the bus is adorable.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawIs that really being a "main gem" or more like being the only gems to actually appear in the story at that point? Like, outside of flashbacks and what not.
And saying "But Lapis and Peridot got more screen-time" doesn't work because, again, Lapis' and Peridot's situations are very different from Jasper. There not all equivalent no matter how much you want them to be.

She might as well be the series mascot if they keep putting her on promotional stuff.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The thing is prior to Smokey Quartz all of the couplings were either canon relationships or explicit metaphors for romantic/sexual relationships of different kindsnote , had some Does This Remind You of Anything?note , or were at least characters who were frequently shipped togethernote . What Word of God said could be taken as plausible deniability or indicating that the gems were just all polyamorous.
Smokey Quartz is the first fusion that's unambiguously, undeniably 100% nonromantic from a Watsonian standpoint. And I think that's great. Showing is more important than telling.
She hasn't gotten as much focus as Randomness had said...not as much as the Peridot gem or even as much as Lazuli. She doesn't get entire episode focus, but she still came up quite a lot...and she can take a break now, back in the Freezerator.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Normally, I'd agree with most of you here; that Jasper's been Put on a Bus for a while and won't be back until the time is right. However, if Jasper's VA is recording a lot more often like Smokey said, then Jasper's gonna' be back sooner rather than later because, logic be damned, what the staff says goes.
This episode (and several others) reminded me of something: Is there a trope for when characters that could be useful don't appear in an episode for no reason other than "because the episode's not about them"?
The first episode I remember that happening is "Island Adventure", where Steven was stuck there for what looked like weeks and the Gems didn't seem to notice/care.

x6 Probably not. If they actually bothered to have their VA's voice different notable roles, then they'd be having them voice the fusions like Smokey Quartz and or guest characters like Bismuth rather than getting new actors to voice them for just an episode or two. So given the odds, chances are 9/10 that she's still voicing Jasper.

Sometimes...we'd be better off without characters in general.
