I had been a strong supporter of the "Rose is Pink Diamond Theory" but now, now I don't know what to think. And Steven Fusing with Amethyst's, just, I mean, can you think of all the possibilities this leaves open? Just, so many possible fusions for characters... I had thought that maybe Steven was going to only be able to fuse with humans, and that would be his "thing" but now he can fuse with Gems AND humans.
Oh, and I totally called Jasper becoming corrupted after fusing with a corrupted Gem.

- Jasper being corrupted was given away by a marathon called "Jasper's Corruption"
- Smokey Quartz's existence was given away by another marathon called "Smokey Quartz" (which in hindsight is probably going to be Amethyst and Steven episodes) plus her being listed in the crunch version of the credits just like Malachite, Jasper, Ruby, and Sapphire were back before "Jail Break".

SQ is voiced by Natasha Lyonne, from Orange Is The New Black and But Im A Cheer Leader.
Smokey Quartz: Oh yeah. Who am I now? I feel like Amethyst knows this.

Garnet can ask questions, she just avoids doing so.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So, I guess the showrunners realized that having two Gems do a Fusion Dance to fuse just started becoming impractical both in a practical and storytelling sense?
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawI got 31 copics
today and a lot of them are gem names
I'm going to point out that "what you did to my Diamond!" could very well mean "get her to change her mind about Earth, which indirectly resulted in her being shattered/corrupted/etc".
I don't think her symbol would have been vandalized if she just died.
Okay, that was something. I thought Jasper had broken all ties to Homeworld and the Diamonds, since she was so fusion-happy, but that she was so broken up over Pink Diamond- that I didn't expect.
A couple of theories:
Most of the Quartzes in the war were more like Amethyst than Jasper
... and to compensate, they fused together like the Rubies to make Jasper-sized Quartzes- or even bigger
. That's why Jasper just pegged fusion as a cheap trick- all she was familiar with was her weaker fellow Quartzes trying to emulate her.
Rose Quartz developed the Corruption technique.
She was looking for a non-lethal way to incapacitate Gems on a large scale, but only the Diamonds had the power and technology to do it worldwide.
And what the hell, Lion is Pink Diamond, after Rose tried corruption on her. Originally, Pink Diamond was monstrous and violent, like every other corrupted Gem, and the Diamonds wrote their sister off as a lost cause. But, Rose was able to stabilize her condition and Lion was formed. The reason it doesn't work on other corrupted Gems is because the method the Diamonds use is itself corrupted- Rose cared about preserving life and hopefully curing the condition later, while the Diamonds wanted a quick and dirty revenge.

Even that doesn't seem terribly likely.

...wow, it's true. I don't think I would have ever caught that on my own.
