Oh goddamnit. Please, let's not even take the risk.
I'd say with what we know about Bismuth, there's a good bet it was our's that did the deed. Lapis' explanation that they presumed her to be a Crystal Gem and put her in the mirror seems uncharacteristic. My thought is this might've been her pre-Crystal Gem.
Regardless, it does make sense that a builder/smith class would be able to combine her Gem into a functional playback device.
Also, add Bismuth to the list of saved intact Gems after the war.

Lapis seemed pretty sure that Homeworld Gems put her in the mirror. Because they were asking questions about where the Rebel base was.
And didn't believe her when she said Dantooine she didn't know.
Aired promos are usually ok before apparantly people decided they're not. Which leads to people going to the leak thread to talk about official promos while running into leaks that they would rather avoid.
It's kind of dumb avoiding the official promos given how hard Crewniverse smashed Bismuth in our face and said "LOOK SHE EXISTS ACKNOWLEDGE HER" with all the promos and the commercial.
There's no question that it was a Bismuth that poofed Lapis back in the war, and thinking through things, we can be pretty certain that even if it's not provable that it was this Crystal Gem Bismuth, that it was a Crystal Gem Bismuth who was responsible... Because Homeworld Bismuth's aren't fighters. They're builders and architects. No matter how chaotic things got on Earth, I can't see Homeworld conscribing them to go punch random Gems. Homeworld's not that flexible.
Add to this that the Bismuth who poofed Lapis had her gem in the exact same position as "our" Bismuth (not to mention simple consveration of detail), and I think it's pretty flimsy to believe it's likely it wasn't "our" Bismuth who was responsible. (Plus, y'know, attacking a maybe-aristocrat non-combatant kinda 100% gels with Bismuth's unilateral hatred for Gem nobility.)
We've been done with it for a while...it'll probably stay that way.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I think another thing suggesting it's the same Bismuth is that Lapis seems like she's one of those "elites" that the Crystal Gem Bismuth hates so much.
While I'm not necessarily bringing it up and won't argue for or against it (we've all made our opinions clear on the matter) Bismuth's introduction makes me feel like the niche Jasper could fill as the Blood Knight with honorable motives that the Crystal Gems don't agree with was taken up by Bismuth herself.
As an aside, it would be epic as hell to see those two fight. Jasper seems the type who would definitely respect her ruthlessness in combat.
You know, I just saw a post that pointed this out (after lots and LOTS of complaining about the SU fandom on Tumblr hating the episode because it was against Bismuth's idea of shattering Gems indistinctly... which I didn't realize was a thing people were upset about? What even... well, anyway): Bismuth is a lot like Jet, isn't she?
When we're done, there won't be anything left. Not really, Jet wanted to kill the bad folk while the innocent would end up being a casualty at that cost. There's no ambiguity, it was just wrong.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Bismuth totally did plan to kill all the Homeworld gems ("The Homeworld Gems won't be able to retake this planet when they're reduced to shards.") She only seemed to actively hate the aristocracy, but didn't care about the rest either.
They're very unlikely to respond to your post or any others.

She mostly had it out for the Diamonds and those that took part in the War though...I don't think she intended to kill "everyone" if it wasn't necessary.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Clearly as the first of the Corrupter Gems, Rose was a warning that there was something very strange about Earth.
Rose left Bismuth in Steven's gift basket to see if his strengthened powers could overcome her resistance to mind control.
The breaking point was a trinket of no value to Rose. She needed weapons that would poof down enemy gems for her to weep over, and so gain more loyal servants.

That cake looks so gooood.
Hiatuses be damned, we've come a long way.
Were aired promo spoilers ok here? It's not very spoily. I'm just very excited about Sardonyx's return. Sardonyx is best fusion.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
